AMD Ryzen 9 3950X will be released in November and it seems that AMD has made the decision to launch this chip to the market without a stock sink, which in the Ryzen series may be the Wraith Spire or the Wraith Prism.

AMD Ryzen 9 3950X would have a variant without heatsink Wraith

Intel, for example, has stopped including stock coolers for its long-unlocked Core i5, i7, and i9 processors. The company's reasoning is that if you have the budget for a high-end chip, you most likely won't use it with a stock cooler.

However, a stock heatsink still has its value in emergencies or if you simply can't buy a heatsink when you buy the processor.

Actually, there are going to be two variants of the Ryzen 9 3950X. The 100-10000000051BOX OPN variant on the AMD website comes with the sleek AMD Wraith Prism RGB heatsink. The 16-core, 32-wire part is rated at a TDP of 105W.

If you don't plan on using the AMD cooler, the Ryzen 9 3950X that comes without the Wraith Prism cooler is codenamed OPN 100-10000000051WOF, where the suffix "WOF" stands for no fan.

AMD has already revealed that the Ryzen 9 3950X will be priced at $ 749. It will be interesting to see how the chip maker values this heatsink-less processor and whether the price difference is significant enough, as consumers will definitely opt for the latter option. Meanwhile, a Chinese retailer has listed the Ryzen 9 3950X that does not come with the refrigerator for HKD 6, 380 (Hong Kong dollars), which is roughly equivalent to $ 814.

As usual, these prices could be inflated due to the chip not being officially released yet. For that we will have to wait for the month of November.
