Amd threadripper generation 3 may arrive in October
Table of contents:
A few days ago we have tasted the new AMD Ryzen 3000 and, with their pluses and minuses , we know that they are excellent processors. However, there is a range that is above these little ones. We speak, of course, of the AMD ThreadRipper, the HEDT (ultra luxury equipment) range from AMD.
AMD ThreadRipper Gen 3
These special processors mount a high number of cores, but have still been able to have high frequencies. This makes them beasts when it comes to performance. This is why leaks from certain sources in the motherboard industry can be troubling for Intel .
According to the anonymous informants, the still unannounced AMD ThreadRippers will be ready to fight the next Intel Cascade Lake-X. In addition, they emphasize that it is not the Ryzen 9 3950X , since they are models already announced for September.
We assume that it will carry an architecture derived from AMD Rome and will be compatible with TR4 boards with a simple BIOS update. On the other hand, they will need a redesign to support PCIe Gen 4 and we hope that it will be able to offer us up to 64 PCIe lines. Other things that we hope, but that will surely happen, are that they support at least eight channels of RAM and a counter of 64 physical cores.
And you, would you like to see some AMD ThreadRipper Gen 3 ? What do you think about these leaks? Comment your ideas in the comment box
