AMD maintains its largest market share in over 10 years

As such, over the past two years, AMD has made small inroads into Intel's enormous dominance of market share since 2006. In the latest CPUBenchmark figures, however, AMD has seen a huge increase since the launch of third-generation Ryzen processors and now maintains its largest market share in over 10 years.

At the time of writing, AMD currently enjoys a 31.9% market share with its processors. Although it is true that this figure is still much lower than that of Intel, in recent months there has been a huge increase and, in addition, it represents the highest figure since the third quarter of 2007.

Although it is still fully open to change, if this trend continues, then AMD could reach market shares of 35-40% by the end of the year. A figure that has not been seen for almost 14 years.

Based on price and performance, AMD is doing quite frankly very well. Its Ryzen chips perform very well for any task, offer a large number of cores and their prices are low. Additionally, AMD has strived for the longevity of its AM4 platform, which already supports three Ryzen generations and probably supports a fourth generation as well. This makes it easy to bet on AMD right now to put together a PC.
