In addition, it has been confirmed that its mass production will start in the middle of this year. Although no specific dates have been given at the moment.

New processor

As has been known, Ampere Altra is based on ARM Neoverse N1, under the 7nm manufacturing process of TSMC. This processor operates at a frequency of 3.00 GHz and also integrates a DDR4 memory controller. In addition, consumption in it is low, according to the firm, especially relevant given the enormous energy consumption of current data centers.

In terms of performance, this processor is 4% faster than the AMD EPYC 7742 with 64 cores and 128 threads Zen2 and 223% faster than a 28-core Intel Xeon Platinum 8280 with a TDP of 205W. So it is crowned as the best option in this field.

Considering that its mass production will take place in the middle of the year, it is expected that by the end of the year it will be made available to customers who want to use it in their data centers. Ampere Altra promises to be the perfect choice for data centers, so we are sure to hear more about it.
