The battery is one of the biggest concerns of Android users. Although there are more and more phones with good autonomy, the usual thing is to have to charge the phone almost daily. So many look for tricks to save battery in some way. Google has announced that in new versions of Android they will measure the battery in a much more precise way.

Until now, Google calculated its battery based on a series of very simple calculations. If in one hour you have spent 10%, then in 10 hours you will have used up the total battery. But, the problem with this algorithm is that we don't use the phone linearly. We are alternating its use. So these predictions are not true. Reason why Google is going to change it.

New algorithm to measure the battery

Android Oreo 8.1. You will use machine learning to learn about the use we make of the battery. Thus, to be able to show much more precise data in this regard. If we use many applications or games, you will learn how much each one consumes in the time in which we use them. This way you can more accurately estimate the remaining battery.

The idea is for Android to study our usage patterns. Although the use we make of the phone is not the same every day, there are usually some patterns. So you can measure the battery more accurately. While the predictions will never be 100% true. But they will come much closer to reality than they currently do.
