Android Oreo continues to grow in the market, although at a slower rate than expected. The latest version of the operating system grows again in May, being the fastest growing among all versions of the operating system. Although it is still low, and it grows more slowly than Android Nougat on the same dates.

Android Oreo gets a market share of 5.7%

Since the two versions of Oreo add a market share of 5.7%. An increase compared to the previous month, in which it had its highest rise, but which still does not push this version too far in the market. It is already the fifth most used.

Android Oreo grows slowly

The growth rate of this version of Android is worrying. In May it has managed to grow 1.1%, being the one that has grown the most. Android Nougat has also managed to grow, although timidly, but it remains in first position as the most used version. While the notable decline of Marshmallow stands out, which continues in second position.

The worrying thing is that Android Oreo is growing slower than Nougat did. At this time last year, Nougat had a market share of 7%, but Oreo barely reaches 6%. So we are seeing it progress too slowly.

This is something worrying for Google. Since although it is good to see that it is growing with a rhythm, and constantly in these last two months, we see that many phones have not yet offered the update to Android Oreo to users. So perhaps the pace will intensify these weeks.
