Radeon R9 285 announced
As we advanced a few days ago, today August 23 the Radeon R9 285 equipped with the Tonga pro GPU from AMD has been presented, which comes to replace the R9 280 based on Thaiti silicon improving its energy efficiency.
In the following table you can see the specifications of the Radeon R9 285 that coincide with what we advanced a few days ago:
Tonga PRO is made up of 1792 Stream Processors accompanied by 112 TMUs and 32 ROPs at a base frequency of 918 MHz that will be accompanied by 2 or 4 GB of GDDR5 memory at 5.50 GHz together with a 256-bit bus leading to a bandwidth of 176 GB / s
According to AMD the card is 14% faster than the GeForce GTX 760 in the Battlefield 4 game at 1440p resolution. It will go on sale on September 2 at a price of 200 euros. In addition AMD has stated that all of its cards based on the GCN architecture will be compatible with the DX12 API.
