Little by little, Aorus is slowly becoming more animated and expanding its catalog with new products. On this occasion, they have sent us their new DDR4 RAM: Aorus RGB Memory that we already saw this year at Computex 2018. It is a kit of 16 GB of RAM memory with a speed of 3200 Mhz and a voltage of 1.35v. One of its most interesting features is the integration of its RGB Fusion lighting system with 16.8 million colors and a wide variety of effects.
Will it live up to the best manufacturers of RAM memory? How will your performance be? Don't miss our in-depth review of this new kit!
We thank Aorus for trusting the product for their analysis.
Aorus RGB Memory technical features
Unboxing and design
Aorus presents its product in very colorful packaging. On the cover we find an image of the two memory modules illuminated with their RGB Fusion technology. It already warns us that it is compatible with the Intel XMP profile and its exclusive lighting technology with Gigabyte and Aorus motherboards.
If you look at the back. We see all the technical specifications in six languages, as expected, one of them in Spanish.
The plastic blister perfectly protects the memories during transport. Once we open the box we find the following bundle:
- Four Aorus RGB Memory modules Warranty booklet
The pack consists of four DDR4s: two of them have a capacity of 8GB and the other two remaining are models that only offer us lighting. Why is this tactic? The idea of Aorus is that our team looks like a high-end team, and occupying all the slots we win in aesthetics and design. Personally I think it makes sense, as long as the cost of these two extra modules does not increase the price of the memories . We all agree on this right?
They are proven to run at a frequency of up to 3200 Mhz and a CL16 latency (16-18-18-38) with a voltage ranging from 1.35v nominal. Some memories that are going to come in great to lower the latency of the processor and gain some FPS while we play.
Aorus certified us that they are 100% compatible with the XMP 2.0 profile that integrates the Z370 (LGA 1151) platforms and the X299 range (LGA 2066). Initially, with the new AGD BIOS from AMD we can also use it on the AM4 platform with the new AMD Ryzen processors of the second generation and the "old" Ryzen of the first generation.
We really like the design and it shows that the batteries have been put in and we love that space gray. Aggressive lines and a high profile memory profile are two of its most important points in aesthetics. Be careful with the height of 0.83 cm of the memories, since if we mount a high-end heatsink, it will surely collide with it. We advise you to check it beforehand.
We have been pleasantly surprised to see that it incorporates top quality Samsung B-die memories. In addition to a heatsink that incorporates a thickness of 2 mm per side and an enviable construction. Really, what a good job Aorus! Also keep in mind that cables are not required for assembly in our equipment. This helps us to have a clean and smooth installation.
Aorus RGB Fusion software
This kit offers us the possibility of choosing between 16.8 million colors through its software. In addition to numerous fully customized effects to our liking.
The improvement has been beastly and they start on the crest of the market wave. We just need to see more models available with different speeds and with more compact heatsinks.

We have used a top of the range Z370 motherboard and an Intel Core i7-8700K processor that we have been using for many months in our test bench. All the results have been tested with the 3200 MHz profile and the applied voltage of 1.35V in Dual Channel. Let's see the results obtained both in stock and with the XMP profile activated!
Final words and conclusion about Aorus RGB Memory
The Aorus RGB Memory have entered through the large door. A kit with memories with high-performance Samsung B-die chips, a frequency of 3200 MHz, CL16 latencies, excellent performance on the Intel platform and lighting that makes you fall in love at first sight.
We recommend reading the best RAM memory on the market
As we have been able to check the performance with the memories set at 3200 MHz instead of the stock (2400 MHz) offers us a plus when we play with our team.
It is already available in the main Spanish stores at a cost of 235 euros. It seems to us a price according to the conditions that RAM memory is currently on the market.
