Arctic confirms that its liquid freezers are compatible with threadripper
Table of contents:
Artic has confirmed that his AIO Liquid Freezer liquid cooling kits will be fully compatible with the new AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors, plus it has been confirmed that they are all directly compatible without the need for any special adapters.
Artic Liquid Freezer is compatible with Threadripper
The AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors are based on the TR4 socket, which has a very different mounting hole arrangement than the AM4 platform, which makes current heatsinks not compatible, so logic says that an adapter needs to be used special to be able to use them.
AMD to Include AIO Kits on Ryzen Threadripper Processors
The Artic Liquid Freezer series includes models with 120mm, 240mm and 360mm radiators, all with a push / pull fan configuration to maximize airflow and pressure. The thickness of the radiators is 48 mm, 38 mm and 27 mm respectively in the three models.
AMD is expected to release 12-core and 16-core Threadripper processors by August 10, a move that would give it the crown of performance as it will take a little longer for Intel to launch its more powerful Skylake-X-based processors, which should outperform Threadripper although with a much less favorable price-performance ratio.
