Asrock takes advantage of a bug to unlock overclock

Anonim

ASRock, the third largest motherboard manufacturer in the industry, for many years has been characterized by its “excess of innovation”, presenting us with motherboards of various ranges, some of them with characteristics and specifications that are far out of the ordinary.

And it does not cease to surprise us, because its Fatal1ty H87 Performance motherboard offers us features, which according to Intel are exclusive to its expensive high-end Z87 chipsets, such as the ability to overclock the Core i7 / i5 K Series microprocessors "Haswell-DT".

As we are told in Tom's Hardware, ASRock took advantage of a bug present in Intel's H87 chipsets, thanks to which they were able to enable the full overclocking capabilities of this chipset, being able to somewhat modify it to a brand new and more expensive Z87 (H87 @ Z87); allowing its users to save a few Euros to purchase an unlocked Intel CPU "K Series".

Exploiting this bug, ASRock created the option: " Non-Z OC ", which allows increasing the CPU operating frequency, accessing the unlocked multipliers of the K Series microprocessors, allowing overclocking on a motherboard whose chipset does not officially support overclock.

This manufacturer cornered for many years on motherboards of dubious reputation, every day is closer to rub shoulders with the major manufacturers of plates, that if it does not already…. !!!

A 10 for Asrock !!
