Serve the Home reports that the EPC621D4I-M2 supports four-channel memory, a 16x PCIe slot, and dual M.2 connections, compromising the compatibility with the six-channel memory offered on LGA 3647 processors.
Meanwhile, the ASRock Rack EPC621D6I, the other C621 MITX motherboard model, supports a total of six memory channels, giving users an unlimited memory experience. This is an amazing achievement for the Mini ITX form factor, though it comes at the cost of the dual M.2 slots offered by the EPC621D4I-M2.
The following image shows us what the ASRock Rack EPC621D6I would look like, using two SODIMM slots mounted on the bottom to connect memory channels 5 and 6 on the motherboard. These images are modified versions of the original images.
ASRock Rack has managed to host up to 28 cores and six memory channels on a Mini ITX motherboard, an unthinkable achievement that, at a minimum, deserves respect, although it should be noted that the board is limited to CPUs with a 205W TDP.
