Asus is one of the most prestigious manufacturers when it comes to manufacturing custom graphics cards. Today it has added the Asus RTX 2070 Turbo EVO to its range of Turing architecture graphics cards that are considered low cost. Let's see what is new in this graph.

Asus GeForce RTX 2070 turbo and turbo EVO

We already know that RTX cards are not characterized by their low cost in general, and much less if they are high-end as they are the RTX 2070, graphics cards with a performance that exceeds an older generation GTX 1080 and capable of making Ray Tracing in real time.

Well, in order to lower the prices of its range a bit, Asus has decided to introduce a new GPU to its RTX 2070 range considered affordable. The Asus RTX 2070 Turbo EVO is the new evolution of the RTX 2070 Turbo version that we currently find in the market for about 630 euros courtesy of Amazon. The same in another store, they are somewhat cheaper, but always above 600 euros. We recall that the Asus Turbo range are the cheapest versions available in terms of graphics cards.

And the truth is that this new Asus RTX 2070 Turbo AVO does not introduce too many new features compared to its sister Turbo, at least in performance. As in the other, we will have a Turing architecture GPU with a clock speed of 1620 MHz in Boost mode and 8 GB of GDDR6 memory at 14 Gbps. In addition to these, we also have pretty much the same heatsink configuration, we're talking about a dual-slot aluminum block cooled by an 80mm turbine fan and IP5X-certified double ball bearing system against dust. We already know that turbine heatsinks are not exactly the best there is, but for some reason it is the cheapest range on the market.

What then is the novelty? Well, for practical purposes, the only news we have in this new Turbo EVO version is that the USB Type-C connector for VirtualLink has been removed from its rear and the power pins have been reduced to an 8-connector, compared to the 8 + 6 connectors that the Turbo version carries. Obviously by reducing connectivity we also reduce the consumption of the GPU.

Additionally, Asus has implemented a new build system for its graphics card using an automated process called “ Auto Extreme ” that increases build quality and accuracy and hardens card stress testing to 144 hours.

Unfortunately Asus has not yet reported on the cost of this graphics card, although if we consider that the Turbo is for about 630 euros, it is possible that this new version is below 600 euros and may arrive, in the best case about 560/570 euros. Soon we will know exactly, for now this is the information we have. In order to differentiate between both graphics cards, we will have to pay attention to the box and its name. This new card will bear the name of " TURBO-RTX2070-8G-EVO ", while the old card will bear the name " TURBO-RTX2070-8G ". What do you think of this new Turbo EVO, and at what price do you see it well? As always, leave us your impressions in the comments.
