The Asus Prime and Asus Pro range is expanded with the X570 chipset to fully cover all the ranges available in the brand under what will be the most desired chipset for gamers of this new 3rd generation Ryzen. We tell you here its news and characteristics.

Asus Prime X570 and Asus Pro WS X570 motherboards

It could be positioned as the mid-range plates of the brand due to their characteristics since they do not present as many new features as those that we have already discussed in previous articles. They are boards that, without giving up basic features such as PCIe 4.0 support and the ideal X570 chipset for gaming, will surely offer us prices around 100 euros.

We are not going to make much impact on the new generation of VRM phases that Asus has explained along with the new boards, so you just have to know that they offer more phases, with improved power control to offer lower temperatures and better signal quality vs. 7nm manufacturing process CPU.

Keep in mind that none of these models that we will discuss has factory Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, or any other, clearly to offer a cheaper product and that the user will decide to buy the Wi-Fi card independently. Now we see the models that are going to be launched.

Asus Prime X570-Pro

This will be the highest performance model, a board that is presented with a design very similar to the previous Prime, without giving up those beautiful white aluminum heatsinks and eye, with heatsink and forced ventilation in the chipset, and RGB AURA lighting both in this heatsink as in the rear port panel protector.

Capacity is maintained for 128 GB of memory, a constant hereinafter on all new-generation boards and a 14-phase power VRM. The PCIe 4.0 x16 slot count is 3, working on x16, x8 / x8 and the third on x4. We don't forget about three other PCIe 4.0 x1 slots. We also have the two M.2 22110 PCIe 4.0 x4 connectors also compatible with SATA III and 6 traditional SATA III ports.

The rear panel consists of 3 USB 3.1 gen2 Type-A and one Type-C along with 4 USB 3.1 gen1, plus HDMI and DisplayPort video ports to make use of the new (or old) Ryzen Radeon Vega integrated graphics.

In the not remarkable network connectivity, Intel I211AT for wired LAN at 1000 Mb / s without Wi-Fi card pre-installed, and the truth is that this model would be appreciated, for being the one with the highest performance. The sound card is high-end with the Realtek S1220A chip compatible with Crystal Sound 3. For lighting enthusiasts we have two RGB headers and one A-RGB.

Asus Prime X570-P

The next featured model in the range loses the “Pro” badge and is clipped at “P”, which involves several things.

The first difference is that we only have two PCie 4.0 x16 slots, one at x16 and the other at x4, plus 3 other PCIe 4.0 x1 slots. The two M.2 PCie 4.0 x4 slots remain, although one of them supports units up to 2280 and the other 22110. But the 128 GB of maximum RAM is still maintained, although we do not know details of its speed, which presumably will be less.

The rear panel loses the USB Type-C and now we have 4 USB 3.1 gen2 Type-A along with 2 USB 3.1 gen1 and a few USB 2.0 as in all cases. Something we also lose is the internal USB 3.1 gen2 connector for the front panel of the chassis.

In connectivity, we do not have Wi-Fi and the chip that controls the 1000 Mb / s wired network is now a fairly normal Realtek 8111H, along with a Realtek S1200A sound card. At least we see that there is no trace of the old Realtek ALC889 chip, to the benefit of these new higher-performance chips. We ended up with those two typical RGB and A-RGB headers, and compatible with Asus RGB AURA.

Asus Pro WS X570-ACE

The third plate presented that belongs to the Pro range offers us more interesting features than the previous one, improving in some respects to this one and which we will now point out.

Again we have support for 128 GB of RAM over 4 DIMM slots and a total of 3 PCIe 4.0 x16 slots that work with X16 the first, x8 / x8 in duo and x8 the third. We increased the speed for the simple fact of not having any PCIe 4.0 x1 slot. As for storage, the number of SATA III is reduced to 4 of them, but the two M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 remain, one will be 22110 and the other 2280.

The rear panel is almost the same as the previous model, 4 USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A, but now also a Type-C. Also 2 USB 3.1 Gen1 missing the internal header for USB 3.2 Gen2, which will not be the end of the world either.

A nice touch is that Asus has dual Intel I211AT and Realtek 8117 10/100/1000 Mb / s network interface. Likewise, the Realtek S1200A sound chip remains as an internal card. Watch out for this, because we will lose the FPS that RGB lighting gives us as we do not have headers installed on this motherboard.

Prime Utopia Concept

Finally we finish with the presentation of an Asus prototype in which the brand shows its vision and aspirations of what will be the hypothetical future of desktop PC motherboards. A board that has PCIe slots on the back because in the front area we have a large 7-inch OLED screen that monitors the status of the motherboard in real time, with temperatures, BIOS, etc.

Similarly, we have a modular I / O system that allows users to choose the ports they will need at all times. It is a concept that takes the molds established in current gaming boards further, which we will surely have in a few years, or even much less.

Availability

Well, as in the other plates that we have discussed in previous news, no price data has been given, but it will be available in the first fortnight of July, along with the Ryzen 3700X, 3800X and 3900X, so it will be a magnificent pack for Those users who are looking forward to this new generation, but cannot afford the higher performance plates that are in the ROG range. How do you see the characteristics of these plates? Would one be missing with Wi-Fi 6 from the factory?
