ASUS expanded its 'TUF Gaming' series of motherboards for the AMD platform with the new TUF B450M-Pro Gaming, positioned above its current TUF B450M-Plus Gaming .

TUF B450M-Pro is placed above the Plus Gaming model

This board features a more sophisticated CPU VRM design, more robust VRM heatsinks, a more 'Premium' integrated audio solution, an additional M.2 slot, and more fan heads than the B450M-Plus Gaming.

For starters, the motherboard features a 10-phase CPU VRM compared to Plus Gaming's simpler 6-phase design. Both areas of the CPU VRM are cooled by visibly larger heatsinks, while the B450M-Plus Gaming has no heatsink in the VSoC phases. The card is powered by a combination of 24-pin ATX and 8-pin EPS connectors. This means that we can push any high-end processor on the AMD platform more to the limit.

ASUS rearranged the layout of the expansion slot to make room for a second M.2 slot. The upper slot has a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 and SATA 6 Gbps connection, while the lower slot has a PCI-Express 3.0 x2 and SATA 6 Gbps connection.

The third major area for improvement is the motherboard on-board audio solution, which uses a high-quality Realtek ALC1220A CODEC compared to the entry-level ALC887 from Plus Gaming. This chip is still connected to 6-channel analog jacks. There is a pair of additional 4-pin fan heads. The integrated Gigabit Ethernet solution has not changed, which is the Realtek RTL8111H PHY.

The ASUS TUF B450M-Pro Gaming is expected to be priced at $ 99.
