Asus presents the new generation of z87 motherboards
ASUS today unveiled its new generation of boards based on the Intel® Z87 chipset for the 4th generation of Intel® Core ™ processors. These new models incorporate a set of technologies designed to maximize the potential of the new Z87 chipset, whether for gaming (ROG series), applications that require maximum reliability (TUF) or for the Workstation (WS) market.
Highest quality for users
In the words of Jackie Hsu, Corporate Vice President and General Director of International Sales for the ASUS Open Platform business division : “ ASUS has exemplary research and development experience that serves as a cornerstone for delivering the highest quality to our users. Each of the new models incorporates technologies that have been recognized as leaders in the sector by specialized media. We are very proud to announce that we have the most complete offer of Z87 boards and that we are going to make them available to our users simultaneously. ”
The new design of the ASUS motherboard series
The new ASUS series models incorporate a new color scheme that symbolizes the Taiwanese company's dedication to offering the highest standards of innovation, performance and reliability. This series of motherboards covers a wide spectrum of uses, at one end, we find the top-of-the-range model Z87-DELUXE, which has all the functions and highly advanced connectivity. On the other hand, the Z87-A model is designed for the most basic equipment configuration without giving up the exclusive functions of ASUS or the advances in performance typical of the Z87 generation. The Z87I-DELUXE is the Z87 option in mini-ITX format and the Z87 WS incorporates a design optimized for workstation applications such as professional design and content creation.
Dual Intelligent Processors 4 technology
ASUS has incorporated Dual Intelligent Processors 4 technology with 4-Way optimization, which has control functions for equipment performance. TPU performance tuning chip, EPU power consumption control, DIGI + Power Control technology and Fan Xpert 2 are accessible with a single mouse click, ensuring real-time performance optimization, increased energy efficiency, control more accurate digital, more detailed management of chassis fan behavior, noise reduction, and improved system cooling. When users are not sitting in front of the computer, the design automatically switches to Away Mode , which allows downloading and streaming of content to continue, minimizing energy consumption. The exclusive 4-way optimization configures the equipment to enjoy the most advanced games, entertainment content, productivity tasks and other usage scenarios.
Z87 performance for gamers and overclockers
The ROG division has designed the new MAXIMUS VI HERO motherboard for hardcore gamers who want to access ROG functionality with a more affordable outlay. ASUS ROG has also designed the MAXIMUS VI GENE, a gaming motherboard in micro-ATX format. Both models feature SupremeFX audio technology, which rivals fidelity level with dedicated solutions with a 115 dBs signal-to-noise ratio. Sonic Radar offers an orientation of the sound sources on the screen, which is a clear competitive advantage for games. The MAXIMUS VI HERO also incorporates mPCIe Combo II, giving you more options for networking, data transfer, and support for new NGFF SSD connectivity.
The top-of-the-range model ROG MAXIMUS VI EXTREME continues the ROG tradition of setting new world records on the new Z87 platform. This motherboard incorporates by default the OC Panel, a console for monitoring overclocking processes and the system that can be placed in a 5.25 ”bay or as an external element. The MAXIMUS VI EXTREME is compatible with 3 GHz DDR3 memory modules.
Improvements in cooling, durability and more flexibility for the DIY market
ASUS has also designed the new ASUS TUF SABERTOOTH Z87 and GRYPHON Z87 motherboards. Both models exceed the rigorous quality and durability standards of the TUF series and have components such as the Japanese-made 10K Black Metallic capacitors, which offer 20% higher tolerance to temperature and stress than the components traditionally used in the motherboard design.
WE RECOMMEND YOU Asus GeForce GTX 1070 Expedition OC is announcedASUS has revamped various TUF series technologies. The SABERTOOTH Z87 Thermal Armor shield, for example, has been updated with a valve design that increases air flow to deliver more efficient heat dissipation. TUF Fortifier backplates reinforce the board against stress and possible breakage. Dust Defender incorporates special protections that protect the expansion slots and connectors against the accumulation of dust and dirt.
The SABERTOOTH Z87 model incorporates all these functions by default, while the GRYPHON Z87 (micro-ATX) model offers the possibility of optionally acquiring the GRYPHON ARMOR KIT, which adds the Thermal Armor, TUF Fortifier and Dust Defender functionalities.
Guaranteed quality
All ASUS, ROG, TUF and WS motherboards undergo a strict validation process that ensures the highest degree of quality and compatibility in the industry. ASUS tests its motherboards for compatibility with hundreds of memory models, expansion cards, and external device combinations from most manufacturers. Motherboards are also subject to the industry's most stringent stress checks to verify their stability, reliability, and durability.
Due to confidentiality agreements with Intel®, the specifications, photographs and recommended prices will be available starting June 3.
