Asus x99 workstation
Today, a new Asus motherboard with x99 chipset has been leaked designed specifically for professional environments, this is the Asus X99 Workstation equipped with the 2011-3 LGA shocket, the board is compatible with the new Intel core i7 microprocessors Haswell-E and the Xeon E5.
The Asus X99-E WS features an 8-phase DIGI + power VRM and the socket is powered by 2 EPS connectors apart from the 24-pin ATX connector. Surrounding the shocket we have a total of eight DDR4 DIMM slots that support up to 128GB of RAM at 3300MHz (OC).
It has five heat sinks of which two are for the VRM section and three for the PCH, DIMM Electrical and one for the bottom of the socket.
The DIGI + design of the motherboard includes numerous components such as DR.MOS MOSFETs, capacitors with the ability to operate for 12000 hours, ProCool power connectors and thermal chokes
Following the specifications we find seven PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, eight SATA III 6.0 Gbps ports, one SATA Express port , two eSATA and one M.2 interface
The rear panel includes 10 USB 3.0 ports, Dual Gigabit Ethernet LAN, HD 7.1 audio jacks, an E-SATA and a firewire.
The suggested price is approximately 499 euros.
