According to the information published by 9to5Mac, referring to sources "familiar with the development of macOS 10.15", certain iOS applications and functions, including Shortcuts, Time of Use and the effects in Messages, will reach Mac computers with the next macOS version. Officially, these novelties will be available in the fall, but it will be in June, taking advantage of the World Developer Conference, when Apple will announce these and other novelties.
New iOS features will be integrated into macOS 10.15
The main novelty that will arrive with the next macOS 10.15 version, which will be officially released for all users in the fall, will include support for Siri Shortcuts. Apple updated the previous Workflow app for iOS, which it acquired and became “Shortcuts” in September 2018, along with the release of iOS 12.
Since its launch, automations have been extended to third-party applications. And later this year, Mac computers will get "system-wide" support for Siri shortcuts, according to today's report.
Secondly, macOS 10.15 will see the arrival of Time of use, the novelty, also incorporated in iOS 12, which allows us to track the use we make of our devices. This feature offers a weekly report with statistics on the applications we use the most. In addition, it allows setting time limits for certain applications, an ideal function for parental control, or for those who want to take a break from social networks, for example.
In macOS, this function will work the same as in iOS, and will be hosted in a new panel in System Preferences. When the time limits are exceeded, an on-screen notification will inform you of this, allowing you to close the app or bypass the screen time lock with an access code.
Finally, after several years available on iPhone and iPad, macOS 10.15 will support screen effects in Messages. Until the current version, when an iPhone user sends these effects and they are read on a Mac, the iMessage screen simply indicates "Sent with" below the message.
