Unboxing and design

Be Quiet! Silent Loop is presented with a standard cardboard box in the brand's corporate color, as it could not be otherwise. The box shows us a great image of the heatsink as well as all the platforms with which it is compatible so that we have no doubts when purchasing it.

The large space available has also been used to detail its features in various languages including Spanish.

Once we open the box we see the heatsink very well protected by several pieces of foam and a bag to avoid damage during transport, Be Quiet! He wants it to come into our hands in the best possible conditions and has put a lot of care.

Beneath the heatsink are all accessories for mounting to AMD and Intel motherboards, a tube of thermal paste, and the three 120mm Pure Wings 2 fans with PWM control.

Finally we look at Be Quiet itself! Silent Loop, as we see is a fairly large system that has been designed to offer maximum benefits with silent operation. It is a "completely" closed system so it comes ready for installation and we do not have to do any maintenance.

The radiator reaches dimensions of 397 x 124 x 30 mm without the fans and 397 x 124 x 55 mm with the fans installed. We see that it is formed by a dense body of very fine copper fins to maximize the heat exchange surface and achieve the best performance.

The use of copper allows its cooling capacity to be superior to other radiators made of aluminum, it is noted that Be Quiet! wants to achieve maximum cooling capacity.

The use of copper for the radiator has another important advantage and that is that the chemical reaction between the copper of the base and the aluminum of the radiator that can occur in other systems based on an aluminum radiator is avoided, this reaction ends up spoiling it reducing its useful life, of course with the Be Quiet! Silent Loop we will not have this problem.

From the radiator come the two corrugated tubes with a length of 39 cm and which are attached to the pump that is included in the water block for the CPU. In this type of solution, the water block is always attached to the pump to achieve the most compact design possible.

The base of the CPU block is finished in nickel-plated and highly polished copper to achieve the best contact, if you look we see that it has a mirror finish so the level of polishing is maximum, a technique used to minimize the imperfections and thus achieve optimum contact with the IHS of the processor.

If we look at the pump we see that it has a fairly simple appearance with a polished finish in which only the brand logo stands out. Be Quiet! Silent Loop only seeks maximum performance, so we did not find any lighting system that makes the product more expensive without actually providing anything. The pump features reverse flow technology with a speed of 2200 RPM and a 3-pin connector for the motherboard.

All a detail has been the inclusion of a reinforcement to prevent the tubes from bending, and a cap that allows the refrigerant fluid to be changed when necessary to extend its useful life.

We now turn to look at the three Pure Wings 2 120mm fans included in the bundle. These fans are the best on the market and have dimensions of 120 x 120 x 25 mm, are able to rotate at a maximum speed of 2000 RPM generating an air flow of 65.51 cfm, a pressure of 2.23 mm H2O and an air flow of 111.3 m3 / h each, almost nothing.

By including three fans we can set them to 50% to achieve a very high overall performance with a loudness of just 23.8 dB.

These fans have a rifle-type bearing with a 4-pole motor that guarantees operation with minimum vibrations and maximum silence, this means a reduction in friction, so the useful life of these fans is 80, 000 hours before fail.

Installation on AMD Ryzen (AM4)

First we must know on which platform we are going to install the heatsink. Be Quiet! You have left all the installation instructions very well explained in your user manual. We leave you a sample of the hardware for LGA 115X and LGA 2011-3 v2 or LGA 2066.

And here we will use for the AMD Ryzen (AM4) platform with an AMD Ryzen 7 1800X processor and an Asus Crosshair VI Extreme motherboard.

First we put the adapters to the block, no screws are needed.

Possibly the most difficult step. We must insert the spring, a washer before inserting the screw into the holes of the block and then tighten with a nut slightly. The result like the one in the photo.

To test the real performance of the heatsink we are going to stress with an interesting AMD Ryzen 7 1800x at stock speed and with overclock. Our tests consist of 72 uninterrupted hours of work in stock values and with an overclock of 3800 mhz at 1.35.

In this way, we can observe the highest temperature peaks and the average that the heatsink reaches. We must bear in mind that when playing or using other types of software, the temperature will drop dramatically between 7 to 12ºC.

How are we going to measure the processor temperature?

For this test we will use the internal sensors of the processor under the supervision of the HWiNFO64 application in its latest version. We believe that it has positioned itself as the best on the market and even more so as a free version. Let's see the results obtained:

La Be Quiet! Silent Loop 360 has left us with the best possible taste in the mouth. And it is that we carry many compact liquid refrigerations under our back, but none has been as efficient , safe and above all silent as this one.

To test its performance we have used the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X, 32 GB RAM DDR4 @ 3200 MHz, one of the best motherboards for the AM4 socket and the result has been impressive. Really recommendable!

One thing that we really liked is that it allows maintenance. This means that with good use, we can have a cooler for many years. The only downside we find is that its installation is quite tedious, but once we have read the manual and having a decent organization, we can install it in 15 minutes.

Its price in online stores ranges from 173 euros. Is it really worth it? We believe that it is one of the best options and that the price is not at all out of whack with having a triple radiator, which will be great for the new Intel Skylake-X processors.
