BG Hunter and Drift Mousepad technical features
Unboxing and design
Both products have arrived in a cardboard box, each one based on the corporate colors of their respective manufacturer. The two boxes inform us of the most important characteristics of the product, so that we do not miss a single detail, in addition, in the case of the mat, it has a small window so that we can touch its surface before going through the box, a whole detail.
First of all we look at the BG Hunter mouse, it is a low-cost gaming model, but it has not given up on offering very good features and benefits. The heart of this mouse is the Avago 3050 optical sensor, which offers a resolution of up to 3200 DPI, which we can change on the fly thanks to a dedicated button. It is a modest sensor, but it offers very good behavior and is far superior to laser sensors.
At the top of the BG Hunter we find two programmable buttons, next to the scroll wheel and the two main buttons. These additional buttons are configured at the factory to change the DPI mode, although we can configure them as we want thanks to the software that we will see later. The wheel is quite large, rubberized and part of the lighting system.
It is a mouse made of plastic, its dimensions are 127.5 x 68 x 40 mm, with a weight of 147 grams, it is a small but not light mouse, something that will make it less agile when it comes to sliding, but in exchange will offer us greater precision. The body of this mouse is valid for palm type and claw type grips, although in my case it has been better adapted to the claw type. Its body has a rubbery touch, something that improves grip, but makes it a magnet for fingerprints.
We go to the left side, where we see the two additional buttons, which we usually find in all mice, and the differentiating point, a third green quick-release button, which we can also configure with the software. Beneath the buttons is a textured finish to improve hand grip and prevent the mouse from slipping.
At the bottom we see Teflon surfers, which guarantee a very smooth glide on the mat. The BG Hunter works with a 1.8 meter braided USB cable. The brand logo has been placed on the back, which is also part of the lighting system.
Once we have seen the mouse, we look at the Drift Mousepad, it reaches dimensions of 450 x 400 x 4 mm and a weight of 410 grams. This mat has a heat-treated microfiber surface to provide you with great precision and movement control, this surface adapts perfectly to laser and optical sensors, making it compatible with all mice.
The sides of the Drift Mousepad are reinforced to prevent fraying, this means that it will last us many years in perfect condition.
Its base is non-slip rubber, thanks to which it will remain completely firm on the table, you can make sudden movements, without the mat moving one millimeter from its position. These characteristics make it the perfect companion for the BG Hunter.
BG Hunter software
The BG Hunter mouse has configuration software, which we recommend installing in order to get the most out of it, we can download it from the manufacturer's official website at no cost.
This software allows us to assign the functions to its six programmable buttons counting the wheel, which gives us a total of eight programmable functions. We can assign own mouse functions, keyboard functions, access to applications, Windows functions, multimedia shortcuts and of course macros.
The BG Hunter software also allows us to adjust the values of the four DPI modes, as well as create and manage macros, adjust scroll speed, pointer precision, and speed of the quick fire button.
Finally we see the lighting, the BG Hunter offers us four colors, we can make them alternate or one is fixed, we can also turn off the lighting or modify the speed of color change.
Final words and conclusion about BG Hunter and Drift Mousepad
BG Hunter has proven to be an excellent low-cost gaming mouse, it is based on a high-quality design, with an accurate optical sensor and has software with many possibilities. All buttons have a firm touch and do not dance, which denotes good manufacturing quality. I have been using it for several days both for work and play and its behavior has been very good in every way.
The aesthetics of the BG Hunter have also been taken care of, with an attractive design that is enhanced by lighting. Its software is easy to use, and offers us the most important functions. If we accompany this mouse with the Drift Mousepad, we have a high-quality combo for a very reasonable price.
BG Hunter has an approximate price of 18 euros and the Drift Mousepad 15 euros.
