Giants M32 and Giants M45 technical characteristics

Unboxing

We start with the presentation and packaging of this new Giants X60, which we find inside a flexible cardboard box of considerable size to be a mouse. The finish of this, is based on gray and white colors with large full color photos of the product, showing different areas of it.

On the back we also have all the information about the benefits of this mouse, as well as a description of it.

Inside the box we only find the Giants X60 and a small equipment installation guide, we do not have spare surfers. The mouse is accommodated in a large plastic and cardboard mold away from the edges of the box to avoid damage during transport.

And if we go to see the presentation of the two mats, we will find some boxes of a very similar design in terms of screen printing, and obviously much longer. Within them, both Giants are rolled up on themselves with the advantage that being flexible gives us.

Giants X60 Design

This gaming mouse comes from Giants Gaming in collaboration with Ozone, to create a clean lines product with the strictly necessary buttons and a design optimized for all types of hands and grips.

The finish is entirely in pearl gray plastic with shiny paint that makes it stand out from any mouse seen so far. The clean lines reveal good finishes both in connection edges, and quality of plastics. The measurements of this mouse are 120 mm long, 66 mm wide by 42 mm high, weighing only 78 grams.

We have in our hands a tiny mouse for which we are accustomed and really light, with which we can make extremely fast movements. This Giants X60 has 16.8 million color RGB Spectra LED lighting and can be customized using the corresponding software.

Its seven buttons are also perfectly programmable through the same software, to adapt our mouse to the needs of each game or user that uses it.

In the front and main area, we have the two good size main buttons for all kinds of fingers and grips that provide a smooth and effortless click, with very little travel, although somewhat loud. Highly durable Omron switches have been used for them.

The wheel is large and quite pronounced, with a soft rubber finish and built-in RGB lighting. The scroll jumps are pronounced, although quite soft and effortless like the button on it. We only have a single 7 step resolution DPI button.

In the side area of this Giants X60, we find only two typical buttons with standard navigation settings of considerable size and the same click sensation as the rest of the buttons. Its layout is accurate and accessible from all grips, because it is a very light mouse, we will not have problems with accidental clicks.

On both sides, the lighting area can be seen with a good finish, although in this case we do not have a rough grip or rubber finishes, so the area will be slippery if it is wet.

This mouse is clearly for use by right-handed users, with a fairly forceful drop towards the right area to facilitate grip and right click. The accessibility of the buttons is very good under any type of grip, although the most comfortable for a large hand could be the Fingertip Grip, or pointed grip. However, the other two are also valid depending on tastes and types of hands, due to their sharp curve in the rear area.

In the lower area and as a support, we have two large Teflon legs located in the front and rear area to generate very fast movements both on mat surfaces and in wood and glass, even being difficult to control and ideal for FPS games.

We do not have customization on the weight of this Giants X60, although we do have a button to change the polling rate of the sensor. Without a doubt, a good mouse that the guys from Vodafone Giants have designed.

Sensor

As for the technical characteristics, we are dealing with a Pixart PMW 3360 optical sensor, which is capable of working at a resolution of 12, 000 dpi, sufficient for any type of current resolution. The displacement speed is 250 IPS and it supports accelerations of up to 50 G in the movements, with a lift off of 2 mm.

From the factory, this mouse is configured with seven DPI steps at: 400/800/1200/2400/3200/6400/12000, so we have a very complete range and that we can also customize through the manufacturer's software. Every time we change the DPI, we will get an associated color to indicate the one we have selected, this we can also modify if we want.

The connection interface of this Giants X60 is simply wired, using a 1.8m meshed USB cable and with gold plated contacts. The mesh finish is very good on this cable.

We can see in these images the operation of the RGB lighting of the mouse, configured in the factory in blue. The finish is undoubtedly different from the typical black, making it an original equipment and at the same time very comfortable to use.

Design of the mats

Now it is time to see more in detail these two new mats of the brand that will make a great team with the mouse that we are analyzing. Remember that a good mat will improve the performance in terms of mouse movement and also the sensitivity and precision of the sensor.

Giants M32 and Giants M45 are two mats where the only difference between them is the size. And as you can assume from the beginning, the M32 version will be the smallest, exclusively oriented to the support and movement of the mouse with a height of 270 mm and a width of 320 mm. While the M45 model provides us with a wider surface where we can support both the mouse and our wrist or part of the arm, and it measures 400 mm in height by 450 mm in width. Personally it is the one that I like the most.

And speaking of their exterior design, we must also indicate that they are exactly the same, with a print on the sliding surface where we see the Giants brand logo in the form of a water charge. Printed on it are the two huge "Gs" that distinguish Giants Gears. It shows that it is a relatively deep impression on the fibers, so, in principle, we will not have wear problems with continued use of the mouse.

But let's take a closer look at the construction of these mats, which we already say, are exactly the same in this regard. Both have a thickness of 3 mm, in which a padded sliding surface made of high-resolution yarn fabric predominates. This will allow even the most powerful sensors to scroll pixel by pixel without sampling errors.

And if we turn it over, what we have is a very soft and flexible rubber surface completely adherent practically where we place it. After stretching both mats and folding them, we have not detected that this surface is past or cracked, which is very important for the durability of the product. In some cases we have seen this type of failure.

Finally, the edges have a design quite similar to other equipment, with a very light gray and high density stitched thread finish judging by the number of stitches on the surface. In this specific case, we have observed that these edges have some threads that have come off, but we do not see that it is in danger of breaking. They are only small threads that we can cut with scissors and nothing else.

Grip and tests are movement sensitivity

We continue with the section that most will interest many, in which we describe our experience of using this Giants X60 and the corresponding tests that we submit the equipment to detect good or bad performance.

We are facing a small mouse, and this is evident to the naked eye in the previous images and those of the grip. The experience of grasping with one hand like ours, about 200 mm long and 110 mm wide, we must say that it is surprisingly good. Accustomed to mice of considerable size, in this case we have a team in which the most comfortable position we have found is that of Fingertip Grip, or grip of the tip type, at least that has been my case. With considerable separation of the palm of the hand from the mouse and slightly arched fingers, we comfortably access all the buttons without losing firmness in the grip.

However, we also get comfort in using the claw grip and palm grip for smaller ones, albeit with separated fingers of the mouse. The buttons are large and very easy to press, and we have quickly become accustomed to using them.

Continuing with our experience, we clearly see a good mouse for use in eSPORT of the FPS type, where fast movements and precise and effortless clicks prevail. The two big surfers and the ridiculous weight of the mouse make excellent control. In the case of quieter RPGs, it is also perfectly valid, although a greater number of buttons would be recommended here.

We now turn to see the results and experience in the sensitivity tests. We already know this sensor from other teams like the Drakonia II, so the results should be the same.

  • Variance to movement: The procedure consists of putting the mouse in an enclosure of about 6 cm, then we move the mouse from one side to the other and at different speeds. In this way the line that we are painting in Paint will take a measure, if the lines vary in length, it will mean that it has acceleration, otherwise it will not. As expected, we do not have any acceleration in this mouse, after repeating the tests several times and varying between very slow and fast speeds, we can see that the lines drawn are almost identical. Pixel skipping: By making slow movements, and at different DPI, we have determined that the pixel jump is non-existent, both on the mat and on the wood. Under 4K resolution we should notice any jump, and we must say that it has been null. Tracking: Tests in games like DOOM or through the selection and dragging of windows, the movement is smooth and totally fluid. The high resolution and sampling rate make this equipment support accelerations of up to 50G. Performance on surfaces: this mouse has worked well on all types of surfaces, shiny as metal, opaque glass and of course wood and mats.

In general, we must say that the behavior is expected in a gaming mouse. Thanks to its management software, we will be able to detail its different aspects of performance and button configuration.

Experience of using the Giants M32 and Giants M45 mats

To evaluate the performance of the mouse, it is time to tell a little about our experience of use together with the mats. And the first thing to note is that this design with enough padding will generate a surface with a not too high speed, correct for most users, but without reaching high accelerations.

Perhaps it is because they are completely new and need a bit of shooting, but if we are looking for a very high speed, better to opt for hard surfaces other than these. In any case, I consider it to be a good surface, especially due to the comfort that comes from supporting the wrist. With an increase in DPI, we can supply the speed of scrolling if we are too demanding.

Final words and conclusion about Giants X60

Starting with this Giants X60, it is presented as a gaming mouse with good features and an affordable price that comes from the hand of a specialized team such as Vodafone Giant. And the truth is that the experience has lived up to expectations, with a Pixart PMW 3360 sensor, whose good performance is more than assured under different brands and models.

The design of this mouse makes it a very good acquisition for specialized FPS players who do not want to spend significant sums. Its size, distribution of buttons and low weight, give it wide compatibility with hands of all kinds, and varied grips. It is shown that the simple is always a winning bet.

In addition, these mats, especially the Giants M45, will be a good option to buy with the mouse, mainly due to their good and comfortable padding. Its fabric surface of very good finish, generates a displacement at moderate speeds ideal for MMO and RPG for example. At the edges are a few small loose threads, but it doesn't look like anything worth worrying about.

And also our guide to the best mats on the market

The finish of the mouse in that silver gray, and the good finishes in all the joining areas make them a very original set. If we add to this its customizable RGB lighting with sober and discreet lines, the set is more than pleasant. We only miss the presence of rubber grips in the lateral areas.

The gaming experience has been very good, both in competitive FPS and RPG games where what matters is enjoying. Perhaps in this sense we could miss an extra button for sniper, since it is a gaming mouse.

In summary, we have a cheap mouse, with 7 customizable buttons, management software, teaming up two new mats and the experience of a great gaming team, of course we cannot ask for much more from this Vodafone Giants product.
