Bitfenix Neos Unboxing and exterior

Bitfenix Neos comes to us comes in a large ecological cardboard box that predominates for its simplicity. On the front it has the Bitfenix logo and name printed, while on the back all the features of the box. Once we open the box we see the chassis is protected by two polystyrene structures and a transparent plastic that prevents the entry of dust or dirt.

It has measures of 185 x 429 x 470 mm cm, an approximate weight of 6 ~ 7 Kg and a very elegant design. One of the most predominant points is the great variety of available colors and combinations:

Black structure with black, gold, red, silver or blue color. White structure with purple, red, silver, white or blue.

The sample sent is white with blue color, I think this combination makes me fall in love, although I would have liked to analyze the version with a window. Both sides and the upper area are made of steel, completely stable and smooth.

In the upper area, its wide connectivity with power button, reset, audio and microphone input, power LED and hard disk, USB 2.0 and 3.0 connections stand out.

The front of the box features a larger than usual perforated mesh surface (bee panel) that helps improve air circulation. If we remove it, it allows us to install fans to create a perfect air circuit and a small filter to prevent massive dust entry. It also allows us to install up to two 5.25 ″ bays for optical drives, card readers, or a rehobus.

At the back we have 4 screws that we can remove without tools, two outlets for liquid cooling pipes, 120mm fan outlet, 7 PCI slots and a hole for the power supply.

Already in the lower area of the box we have four rubber feet, and a filter for the air outlet of the power supply.

Bitfenix Neos Interior and Assembly

Once we remove both side covers we visualize an internal structure completely painted in black and made of top quality solid steel. In this first glance we visualize that there are holes to organize the wiring (cable management), large space for a power supply, a cabin for 3 3.5 ″ hard drives, another for 3 SSD or 2.5 ″ drives and another section for two 5.25 ″ bays.

The box is compatible with ATX, microATX and Itx motherboards with up to seven expansion slots. The possibilities are maximum, by allowing us to install heatsinks up to 160 mm high and graphics cards up to 30 cm long. Possibly the refrigeration is one of those points to improve. It incorporates a rear 120mm fan and the possibility of installing two 120mm fans in the front of the box with their respective filters.

And here I leave you a complete assembly on the Bitfenix Neos with an ATX motherboard, a small format graphics card but with great performance (GTX960) and a modular power supply. Final result is spectacular!

Although I would like to inform you a bit about the experience. Heatsinks such as the Noctua NH-D14 or D15 do not fit with a size greater than 16 mm.

On the graphics cards we will not have problems if we only mount one, since the 3.5 ″ hard disk booth limits the space to 28.5 cm, so be careful when you want to mount an SLI or CrossFireX.

Cable management gives us just enough to move around the box and hide the cables with only 0.5 width in the rear area. Here I have had to stay longer than usual, but with patience I have been able to do it.

Final words and conclusion

The Bitfenix Neos is an ATX format box characterized by having a sober, tidy and very elegant design. This series allows us to choose between a wide variety of front colors with a base structure of black and white bases.

Among its benefits we find the possibility of installing graphics cards up to 30 cm and heatsinks up to 16 cm. In cooling it incorporates a rear 120mm fan, although it also allows us to install up to 2 120mm fans to improve air flow.

In the assembly of a mid / high range equipment for all pockets we have not had great buts for its assembly. I would have liked it to include fans in the front and in the organization of the wiring it was easier than in other superior models. But what are we going to order for a box with a price of less than 40 euros.

In short, if you are looking for an input box but with characteristics of other chassis from 80 to 100 euros, the Bitfenix Neos is a great candidate.
