Bq had sales of 1.1 million phones in 2017

BQ is the most popular and well-known Spanish phone brand on the market. The brand just released its financial results from last year. Among them are last year's phone sales. Some data that show the progress of the brand, although they do not represent a great rise compared to 2015. In terms of turnover and profits, they stand at 190 million euros and 8.5 million euros respectively.

BQ had sales of 1.1 million phones in 2017

BQ sold 1.1 million smartphones in the 12 months of last year. This means that its sales have increased compared to 2015. Sales data for 2016 are not known, since the company did not make them public. But, it seems that the situation has improved in 2017.

BQ increases its sales

Three years ago the company went through difficult times. For this reason, they were forced to make significant cuts in the workforce. Something that seems to have been a good solution, since they have managed to obtain benefits again. Good news and it serves as a boost for the Spanish brand. Something that they surely seek to maintain this year as well.

The strategy followed last year has been quite conservative. They have not released revolutionary phones in terms of design or specifications. But this has been useful for them to stay in the market. Now, they will have to take risks to expand.

The market share of the brand in Spain stands at 10.3%, thus being the third. A good figure in a market in which brands such as Samsung or Huawei dominate. Therefore, its task is to maintain this trend in 2018.
