AirPods have become an inseparable accessory for its user. However, their own nature makes it necessary for us to pay special attention to them. The very dirt that we carry in our hands, the dust, the sweat or the earwax of our ears, forces us to clean them with some regularity but, how to do it in the optimal way and without suffering any damage?

Clean the AirPods

The best way to clean AirPods is to do so using an ear bud and a soft bristle toothbrush. Before undertaking your task you must bear in mind two absolute conditions:

  1. Do not wet them, at all costs prevent liquid from entering the openings. Do not use abrasive products or sharp objects to clean your AirPods, you could seriously damage them and even render them useless.

That said, you should use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the body of the headphones as well as their charging case. It is best to get a microfiber cloth.

To clean the microphone and speaker grilles of each of the headphones, use the ear swab. If you find it too thick, you can "lower" it with the help of small scissors. Once you're done, use an unworn soft bristle toothbrush to remove debris from the grids.

To clean the charging case, Apple tells us that we can "slightly moisten the cloth with 70% isopropyl alcohol, but in any case, make sure that no liquid enters the charging port. Use the brush indicated above to remove debris from the Lightning connector. And remember that you should not enter anything in the loading port.

Follow these simple tips and you will always have shiny AirPods to continue enjoying them to the fullest. Be wary of tricks you find online that are not recommended by Apple itself because, in case of damage, you would not be covered by the warranty.
