Well, we continue with the Thermaltake news for this Computex 2019, and now it is the turn of these Thermaltake S500 and S300 chassis, which can be defined as two A series chassis, but with the external steel hull, hence its letter " S ”by Steel, of course.

Thermaltake S500 Steel TG the steel version of the A500

And the truth is that the benefits are practically the same as the Thermaltake A500, as it is a steel version of it. In this case, we intuit that the weight will be higher since it is steel and not aluminum, and also the finish changes to now be black and relatively rough. Something that has also changed are the side windows, which are square instead of having that detail in the corners, and we lose the support through hinges.

It offers us the possibility of rotating the slot panel to place VGA vertically, this is something that the A series also has, although in this case we lose the USB Type-C on the front panel, keeping two USB 2.0 and another 2 USB 3.0, is not a drama either, being the price surely reduced of this version.

Being a semi-tower chassis but of good size, it offers us support for triple front fan in 140 and 120 mm and capacity for 420 mm radiator. In the upper area there is also capacity for three 120 mm fans, two 140 or 360 mm radiator. Then being the same as the A500. We also have identical hardware capacity, that is, heatsink up to 160 mm, PSU up to 220 mm and GPU up to 420 without HDD rack.

Thermaltake S300 Steel TG the cheapest and smallest

This S300 is the smaller of the two, although it still maintains its semi - tower format. In fact, there are interesting things about him that are worth noting for better and for worse.

To begin with, its shape configuration is different, we explain, we do not have a full steel panel at the top, but now a large ventilation grill with magnetic filter has been installed. In this way the profile has been lowered a few centimeters as it does not have to suck air from the side. The rear area does not rotate, and directly offers two fixed slots to place vertical GPUs.

The support for ventilation has also dropped, and although we do not have its specifications, we can guess that it will offer capacity for a double fan of 140 and 120 m in the upper area, a double fan of 140 mm or a triple of 120 mm in the front and one of 120 mm in the back.

The port panel is drastically reduced to just two USB 3.0 ports, and we see that there is a button for RGB, which makes us believe that the RGB rear fan comes pre - installed at the factory.

We recommend our guide on the best chassis on the market

These chassis will be placed in the mid-range, possibly, if a little more, pulling the S500 in the upper-middle range. Good options for those users who want to get rid of the plastic in the front area and have a tower of good quality, capacity for hardware and without a doubt, elegant.
