Chuwi is one of the Chinese manufacturers that launches the most tablets on the market. And one of our favorites is the one with the dual operating system : Android plus Windows 10. On this occasion, we bring you the complete review of the Chuwi Hi10 Plus with Intel Cherry X5 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of internal memory, removable physical keyboard and a 10.8-inch screen with Full HD resolution.

Unboxing and design

The tablet arrives in a compact cardboard box with a neutral design. On the front we see the Chuwi logo screenprinted.

While the most relevant technical specifications are detailed on the left side.

Once we open the box, we find the tablet properly protected. Inside we will find:

The Chuwi Hi10 Plus Lego It is built with a metal body that conveys the feeling of being in front of a very good quality device and shows us that this material can perfectly pass through aluminum (but with greater weight, of course). It is built with dimensions of 27.64 x 18.48 x 0.85 cm together with a weight of 686 grams without the dock connected.

If we focus our attention on the Chuwi Hi10 Plus we see a device of normal dimensions by the use of a 10.8-inch screen. Although for many it can be somewhat uncomfortable to transport it, but with a basic cover or in a small suitcase we can move it without any problem, since it does not weigh much.

On the back is the brand's logo next to the 2-megapixel rear camera. The resolution of the camera makes us presage that your photos will not be a panacea, but to muddle through.

At the top (landscape) is the Windows 10 logo. He already tells us that he will have an operating system signed by Microsoft, but we will see that in his section.

While on the right side we have the buttons to lock / unlock the tablet and the volume control of the device.

Already in the left frame are the connection pins for the dock. Mainly there are two magnetized systems for its fixing and the data connection to the keyboard.

In the upper frame we have the 3.5mm jack output for headphones, a microUSB port, a Micro HDMI port so that we can use the tablet as a multimedia device when connecting it to our TV and a microSD slot, we can use memory cards to expand our storage. We also see a detail of one of its speakers.

While the other side we have its second speaker without any connection to highlight.

The display mounts an IPS panel with a 10-inch diagonal and a remarkable resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a figure that is perfect for both dimensions and image quality.

Among its technical characteristics we find an Intel Cherry X5 Z8350 processor, consisting of four cores at a base frequency of 1.44 GHz and with boost it goes up to 1.92 GHz.

It also has an Intel HD 400 graphics card, thanks to the choice of an x86 processor from Intel we have the advantage of having a complete Windows 10 that allows us to run the same software that we use on our computer, nothing to limit ourselves to mobile applications. On the RAM it comes in handy with a total of 4 GB and a storage of 64 GB of storage expandable through microSD up to 128 GB.

By characteristics we are in front of a top-of-the-range tablet. And is that incorporating Windows 10 with this processor is a guaranteed success. Its specifications are completed with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity and WiFi 802.11 / b / g / n connection.

Optional dock

The incorporation of the dock into the pack makes it a very versatile device. Since it allows us to have a 10-inch tablet and a small laptop at the same time. Among its improvements we find the ability to write emails, chat and even play faster.

It connects to the Chuwi Hi10 Plus with a magnetic system and very quickly. It also incorporates two USB 2.0 connections on each side to connect any pendrive, very useful for quickly managing files and multimedia content without filling our small flash disk.

The only downside is that the touchpad could be something better, it perfectly complies with its content, but if you are a bit of a hand at the gestures that Windows comes with, it can make you lower all the windows quickly.

Finally, an image of the rubber protections that prevent you from scratching the metal surface of the dockstation.

Operating systems: Windows + Android

The performance is more than correct with the Android operating system, but you can see that this processor is not so fine-tuned with Android than with Windows.

As standard it incorporates Windows 10 and logically everything is super fluid. Both browsing, as well as playing videos and games considering that it is a tablet. Do not imagine that it has the performance of an i3 or an i5… With this clear, we continue.

Compared to other models that we have tested, 4 GB of RAM gives the system a great life and using the keyboard as a laptop makes it a very versatile device. We see it ideal as a solution to write some documents with the office package, connect to the cloud and view multimedia content.

Camera and battery

The Chuwi Hi10 Plus includes 2 megapixel rear and front cameras, a very modest figure so we cannot expect great results as we have commented before. However, it will do us a good job and we will be able to take quite decent photos if the light allows it. But obviously at night or in too dark places the images are not as good and we do not recommend their use.

The battery has a total of 8400 mAh and in our tests we have seen excellent performance giving enough autonomy for about a day and a half. As it sometimes happens in these devices, we must disable the Wifi when we are not using it (in Windows 10 only) to improve autonomy. In Android its behavior is very good, but of course… this processor is more thinking for Windows than for Android.

Final words and conclusion about Chuwi Hi10 Plus

The Chuwi Hi10 Plus offers good image quality thanks to its 10-inch IPS panel and 1920 x 1080 resolution. Viewing angles and color rendering are very good.

One of its great virtues is the incorporation of the double operating system: Windows 10 + Android 5.1. A way to satisfy the user's needs, according to their needs. As we mentioned during the review, it goes much better with Windows than with Android, due to the processor (Intel) that it incorporates.

Its two main drawbacks are the incorporation of a 2MP camera and an Android operating system that is already… old but fully functional with the large Android repository.

Taking into account that it is one of the most versatile options on the market at a very fair price, we believe that it is a 100% recommended option. Since we can use it as an advanced tablet or as a basic laptop.
