When I got home the new iPhone XR the first thing I did as soon as I configured it was to start exploring the terminal. Its new design, already introduced the previous year with the launch of the iPhone X, represents a great change in usability derived, mainly, from the absence of the Home button. That is why one of my first doubts was: now how do I take screenshots ?

Screenshot without Home button

The elimination of the physical Home button has meant the introduction of a new series of gestures with which to manage the new generation of iPhone; Launch multitasking, return to the home screen, pay with Apple Pay or show the control center, now they are done in different ways than it was done on the iPhone 8 and earlier. Also to take a screenshot you will have to use another way, although you can rest easy because basically the method is the same except that you are going to use other buttons.

For those of us who make use of the screenshot, this function is essential. I very often use this feature to illustrate tutorials in Professional Review, so I was in a hurry to know how to do it now.

Until the iPhone 8, to take a screenshot we had to simultaneously press the side on / off button and the Home button. Now there is a slight change because instead of pressing the Home button, you should press the volume up button. In other words, press the side on / off button and the Home button at the same time. And that's it! The capture will appear in a corner of the screen as before so you can edit, save, delete or share it directly.

This new method is compatible with the iPhone X 2017 and with the new devices iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR.
