Google decided to set aside its Nexus range to focus on its own Google Pixel and Pixel XL phones that come with Android 7.1 installed.

Android 7.1, for the moment, is exclusive to this new phone and there are new features that we will surely detail in future articles. Today we are going to tell you how to take screenshots on a Pixel phone. The process does not differ from other Android phones but there are details worth mentioning.

How to take a screenshot in Google Pixel?

There are several options to achieve this, the first and most classic is to use the buttons on the phone to take a screenshot.

  • We have to press and hold the power button (on the top) on the right side of the phone and the volume down button. Once we hold them down, we release the buttons at the same time and the capture will take place, the usual thing is that A notification appears with the image thumbnail.

How to access the captures?

It is known that the screenshots in Google Pixel are saved in a special folder. To access the thumbnails we can open the notifications and click on the thumbnail that we explained before, that capture can be shared or deleted.

  • To see the images that we have captured, we have to open Google Photos and look for the Screenshots folder.

In the future Google will offer an update for Google Assistant that will allow us to take screenshots with a voice command, something that was already present in Google Now and that would come in the form of an update to the new Android assistant.
