Comparison: jiayu s1 vs lg nexus 5
This time it's up to the great Google Nexus 5 to measure its forces against the Jiayu S1. We are talking about two smartphones that have very good features, of which we will check throughout the comparison if they also have a reasonable value for money. Many will say that we are comparing devices of different range, and you are right. We only seek to demonstrate whether or not the difference in cost is proportional to its characteristics. As always, the Professional Review team looks forward to helping you. We start:
First of all, its screens: the Jiayu S1 presents 4.9 inches with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. For its part, the Nexus 5 has 4.95 inches Full HD and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Both screens are equipped with IPS technology, which gives them a great viewing angle and great color definition. The two terminals also have the same protection system, although of a different type: the glass manufactured by the company Corning Gorilla Glass 2 for the Jiayu S1 and Gorilla Gass 3 for the Nexus 5.
We continue to compare their processors: the Jiayu S1 features a 1.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 SoC , while the Nexus 5 features a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon ™ 800 CPU running at 2.26GHz. Its GPUs They belong to the same manufacturer, but different model: A dreno 320 in the case of the Chinese model and Adreno 330 if we refer to the Nexus. Its RAM memories do have the same capacity (2 GB) and also have the same operating system but with a different version: Android 4.2. Jelly Bean and 4.4 KitKat for the Jiayu S1 and Nexus 5 respectively.
As for its cameras, the Jiayu S1 plays with an advantage thanks to its main 13-megapixel lens, compared to the 8-megapixel Nexus 5. Both terminals share functions such as autofocus and LED flash, among others. The same thing happens with the front cameras: 3 megapixels accompany the Chinese model and 2.1 megapixels do the same with the LG, useful for video conferencing. Regarding the quality of video recording, we can say that the two terminals perform it in HD 720p at 30 fps.
The Jiayu and Nexus batteries have the same capacity: 2300 mAh. If we consider the power of each one, we could say that the LG model will have less autonomy. But as we already know , the use that we give to the terminal (video playback, games, connectivity, etc.) will also have its influence.
Now its internal memories: the Jiayu S1 presents 32 GB expandable up to 64 GB through microSD cards, while the Nexus 5 has a 16 GB and a 32 GB model, without the possibility of expansion.
Connectivity: both devices have very common connections such as 3G, WiFi or Bluetooth, although the Nexus 5 also offers 4G / LTE support, as is common among high-end smartphones.
Designs: The Chinese model has dimensions of 138 mm high x 69 mm wide x 9 mm thick and 145 grams of weight. It has a back shell made of steel that gives it great robustness. The Nexus has almost the same size: 137.84 mm high × 69.17 mm wide × 8.59 mm thick and weighs 130 grams.
WE RECOMMEND YOU Comparison: Jiayu G4 vs LG Nexus 4Finally, prices: the Jiayu S1 is a relatively powerful terminal that comes out at a very good price: about 230 euros, which gives it a good quality / price ratio, a cost that is fairly accessible to any pocket. The Nexus 5 at the moment we can find it on its official website for 349 euros (16 GB model) and for 399 euros (32 GB model). We are therefore talking about a smartphone that has excellent features but at a cost that is not within the reach of the public.
