The turn has come for the comparison between Google's Motorola Moto G and Apple's iPhone 5. The first carries with it the Android operating system, in its 4.3 Jelly Bean version, upgradeable in the coming months; while the apple company model uses IOS6. We include the Moto G model in the mid-range, with a good quality / price ratio. The iPhone 5 belongs to the high range, with good features and a much higher price as we will see later.

Let's first describe their respective designs: the Moto G measures 129.9mm high × 65.9mm wide × 11.6mm thick and weighs 143 grams. For its part, the Iphone 5 has dimensions of 123.8 mm high x 58.5 mm wide x 7.6 mm thick and weighs 112 grams. It can be clearly seen how the Motorola model is a bigger and heavier device than Apple's. On the other hand, we can say that the Moto G protects itself from the possible damages it may suffer as a result of a fall or other type of mishap thanks to its “Grip Shell” or “Flip Shell” housings, which completely enclose the device, in addition to your Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The iPhone 5 defends itself thanks to its back cover and its sides made of aluminum and stainless steel. The entire front of the terminal consists of an oleophobic cover and Gorilla Glass.

Let's continue evaluating the screen of both Smartphones: the Motorola Moto G has a worthy 4.5 inches, with a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels and a density of 441ppi. For its part, the iPhone 5 has half an inch less, staying on a 4-inch TFT IPS screen, and a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels.

As for the internal memory, they are clearly differentiated. Although both devices have a 16 GB model on the market, the iPhone 5 has two more different types of phones in this regard: one with 32 GB and the other with 64 GB. The other Motorola model has 8 GB of capacity . Both Smartphones lack a microSD card slot.

Let's analyze its processors: the Moto G has a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 soc, accompanied by 1GB of RAM. The iPhone 5 has a 1.2GHz dual-core Apple 6A CPU. The accompanying RAM is also 1 GB.

As usual in latest generation and high-end smartphones, the iPhone 5 offers LTE support, something that does not happen in the case of the Moto G, which does have other more common connections such as 3G, WiFi or Bluetooth, something that also incorporates the Apple terminal.

Let's compare their respective cameras: the iPhone 5 is superior as far as the rear lens is concerned, since it has 8 megapixels; by contrast, the Moto G only has 5 MP. The two have different capture modes, among which the LED flash or autofocus stand out. The front lens of both devices has 1.3 megapixels, which will be enough to make selfies or video calls. Both Smartphones are capable of recording Full HD video at 30 fps, only that in the case of the iPhone they are made at 1080p and in the case of the Moto G at 720p.

As for the battery, we are facing a palpable difference: while the Moto G has a capacity of 2, 070 mAh, the iPhone 5 has a much lower autonomy, 1, 440 mAh. We can see that Apple has not put too much battery on this issue with respect to its predecessor, the iPhone 4 with 1420 mAh. However, it must be borne in mind that the active time of the smartphone will always depend on the handling given by the user, although the difference between the two batteries is quite evident.

WE RECOMMEND YOU Android Oreo comes to Moto Z Play and Z2 Play

Let us now proceed to compare prices: the Motorola Moto G is a phone within the reach of the vast majority of the public, thanks to its scarce 200 euros of cost that we will pay in less or more time (fees) depending on the agreement we take with the teleoperation company. If we want to acquire it by cash payment, we can find it on pages like Amazon for 175 euros, free and in presale. The iPhone 5 is a much more expensive terminal: currently it can be found new for an amount that exceeds 500 euros in most cases. However, as it happens with almost all terminals, we can pay it little by little through quotas covered by permanence rates offered by our operator.
