Comparison: motorola moto g vs nokia lumia 520
Let's continue our comparisons with the Motorola Moto G and the Nokia Lumia 520, face to face. We will check below which of them compensates us the most to acquire taking into account its quality / price ratio. The professional Review team details each of its characteristics, do not lose detail:
Let's talk about its displays first: while the Moto G features 4.5 inches and a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution with a density of 329 ppi, the Nokia Lumia 520 features a 4 inch IPS screen with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. There are also functions such as brightness control, ambient light sensor and super-sensitive screen, among others. The Moto G anti-scratch protection is made by the Corning company: Gorilla Glass 3.
Processors from the same manufacturer but with different power: the Moto G has a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC and Adreno 305 graphics chip, while the Lumia features 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon. The RAM of the Motorola model is 1 GB; for its part, the Nokia presents 512 MB. As an operating system we have Android 4.3 Jelly Bean upgradeable for Motorola and Windows Phone 8 for Lumia.
Then we take care of your designs: the Moto G has dimensions of 129.9 mm high × 65.9 mm wide × 9.9 mm thick and weighs 143 grams, while the Lumia 520 has a size 119.9 mm high x 64 mm wide x 9.9 mm thick and weighing 124 grams. This model also has a plastic casing that gives it a certain robustness. The Moto G for its part has two types of casing: the " Grip Shell " that surrounds the terminal and the " Flip Shell ", which encloses the device completely, although it has a front opening for easy screen handling.
Internal memories: the Lumia has a model on the market of 8 GB, expandable through microSD cards up to a maximum of 64 GB. The Moto G has two models for sale: one of 8 GB and the other of 16 GB, lacking a card slot.
Both models have very basic connectivity, such as 3G, WiFi or Bluetooth and with the absence of LTE / 4G support.
Cameras: Both the Motorola Moto G and the Nokia Lumia 520 have a 5 MP rear lens, although the Nokiam model, unlike the Moto G, does not have an LED flash. Video recording is done at 720p and 30fps on both devices. The front lens present in the Motorola is 1.3 megapixels, which can be used to make video calls. In the Lumia 520 the front camera is conspicuous by its absence.
There is a quite remarkable difference between its batteries: the Moto G has a capacity of 2, 070 mAh, while that of the Nokia has 1, 430 mAh. As far as we can see, those of Nokia have not taken much trouble with the autonomy of their terminal, although being a not too powerful terminal, it could hold up long, as long as we do not spend the day playing or playing video. The autonomy of the Moto G could be described as normal.
To finish, its prices: the Motorola Moto G is slightly below 200 euros (we have found it in amazon for 175 euros, free and in presale), a value to keep in mind for those looking for a mid-range terminal with good quality / price. The Nokia Lumia 520 is a less powerful terminal and therefore cheaper: we have located it in free pccomponents and in various colors for the modest price of 129 euros.
