Comparison: motorola moto g vs xiaomi mi2a
Here we have another Chinese medium-high range terminal ready to measure itself against the Moto G. We are talking about the Xiaomi MI2A. As for the Motorola model, there are plenty of presentations, well known in these parts. We will take care of the Asian smartphone below, showing each of its qualities and shortcomings, hoping thereby to make the most indecisive this Christmas decide to make a good gift to their partner, family member or why not, to himself. Pay close attention to its characteristics:
Let's start with its designs: the Moto G has dimensions of 129.9 mm high × 65.9 mm wide × 11.6 mm thick and weighs 143 grams, while the Xiaomi MI 2A has a 133mm height x 66.5mm width x 9.5mm thickness and 133 gram weight. The thickness of the Moto G, despite being smaller in size than the Xiaomi, makes its weight somewhat higher. The Moto G also protects itself from shocks with two types of casing: the " Grip Shell " that surrounds the terminal and the " Flip Shell ", which completely encloses the device, although it has a front opening to use the screen. For its part, the Chinese model has a metal back shell and is available in various colors: white, green, blue and yellow.
Now it's the turn of their screens: both smartphones have a 4.5-inch IPS screen and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels with a density of 329 ppi for the Moto G and 326 ppi for the MI 2A. The Moto G's anti-scratch protection is made by the Corning company: Gorilla Glass 3, while the Xiaomi features DragonTrail technology that makes it practically resistant to any blow.
Processors: the Moto G has a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 SoC and Adreno 305 graphics chip, while the Xiaomi MI 2 presents 1.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro Dual Core and the Adreno 320, which It will allow you to use the latest generation games in the Google Store, or quickly browse the internet. Both smartphones are also accompanied by 1 GB of RAM. As an operating system we have Android 4.3 Jelly Bean (upgradeable) for Motorola and MIUI v5 for Xiaomi (based on Android 4.1).
Cameras: The Motorola Moto G presents a 5 MP sensor as its rear lens, while the Xiaomi MI2A is made up of a 2nd Generation CMOS lens with f / 2.0 aperture and 8 megapixels. In addition, both lenses share the autofocus function and the LED flash. The Moto G's front lens remains at 1.3 megapixels, while in the case of the Xiaomi it has 2 MP useful in both cases to make video calls or profile photos on social networks. Video recording in the Chinese model is done at 1080p HD and 30fps, while the Moto G does it at 720p and 30fps.
The two phones have very common connections for almost 100% of smartphones, such as WiFi, 3G or Bluetooth. The very fashionable 4G is conspicuous by its absence in both cases.
As for its internal memories: the Chinese model has a single 16 GB model on the market. The Moto G for its part has two different models (one of 8 GB and the other of 16 GB). Both devices lack a microSD card slot.
Batteries: they have practically the same capacity: the Moto G features 2070 mAh and the Xiaomi MI2A 2050 mAh. The greater power of the model manufactured by the Asian company suggests that its autonomy will be less than that of the Moto G, although as we always say, the use we give to the terminal is also related to its duration in service.
Finally, its prices: the Motorola Moto G can be found for 175 euros on Amazon, a very affordable mid-range terminal with good benefits. The Xiaomi is a somewhat more expensive device: its official website offers it to us blank for 220 euros.
Author's conclusion: I, personally, would opt for the Asian model this time, with greater power (despite the fact that this entails a higher energy expenditure), but if I like something about a smartphone, it is games, and given the choice, the Xiaomi offers us greater fluidity in that regard.
