Comparison: motorola moto g vs xiaomi red rice
We continue comparing the Motorola Moto G with another terminal of the same range (also Chinese and very similar to the Jiayu G4 that we already analyzed), the Xiaomi Red Rice, and that we hope to clarify some doubts about both terminals. Both of them are smartphones with quite striking features for their price, so we can get a good phone without having to do much damage to our pocket. Next we will proceed to list its main characteristics:
Let's start for example by talking about its processors: the Xiaomi Red Rice is supported by a Quadcore Mediatek MT6589 Turbo CPU with four ARM Cortex A-7 cores that run at 1.5GHz, while the Moto G SoC It's Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 quad-core 1.2GHz. The high-performance graphics PowerVR SGX544MP GPU enables the Chinese model to play 3D games and decode 1080p (H.264) video. For its part, the Moto G presents Adreno 305. Both devices are also accompanied by a 1 GB RAM memory. As for the operating system, we can say that the Motorola phone presents Android Jelly Bean 4.3 updateable soon and the Red Rice has MIUI V5, also equivalent to Google's 4.2 Jelly Bean.
Let's continue with its screens: the Motorola Moto G comes equipped with a worthy 4.5 inches, in addition to a resolution of 1280 × 720 pixels with a density of 441ppi. The Xiaomi shares the same resolution but brought to 4.7 inches and a density of 312 pixels per inch. It also has IPS technology which gives it a good viewing angle and great reality in its colors.
Internal memory: In the case of the Xiaomi Red Rice, the ROM does not go beyond 4 GB, although they are expandable up to 32 GB thanks to the micro SD card slot. The Moto G however has two models a little more ambitious in this regard, one with 8 GB and the other with 16 GB, but it does not have an SD card slot, so there will be no choice but to settle for that amount.
In the field of connectivity they do not stand out especially. Neither of them has a 4G / LTE connection, which has been in high demand lately, but they have very common connections such as 3G, WiFi or Bluetooth.
Let's continue with its design: the Xiaomi is 125.3 mm high x 64.5 mm wide and 9.9 mm thick. Its weight is 158 grams. For its part, the Moto G has dimensions of 129.9 mm high x 65.9 mm wide x 11.6 mm thick and weighs 143 grams. The Chinese terminal, despite being somewhat smaller, narrower and thinner than the Moto G, is heavier, perhaps due to the size of its screen, battery, etc.
As for the back cover of the Xiaomi there is nothing to highlight: it is made of resistant plastic (up to a pressure of 135 kg), interchangeable and available in three colors: Chinese red, metallic gray and ivory white. The screen glass is made by the Corning company, being Gorilla Glass 2 type anti-scratch. On the other hand, the Moto G has two types of complementary housings, such as the " Grip Shell " and the " Flip Shell "; The latter encloses the device completely, presenting a front opening for the best use of the screen, which is protected by Gorilla Glass 3.
As for the batteries, we can say that the difference is minimal: the Moto G has a capacity of 2, 070 mAh, while the Red Rice presents 2, 000 mAh, capacities that will not go unnoticed by the user; We could say that the Chinese model, having a somewhat higher power, will have less autonomy, although everything will depend on the handling of the device.
Now we turn to analyze its cameras: the Xiaomi has an 8-megapixel rear Samsung sensor, a 28mm wide angle and an f / 2.2 aperture. The Moto G for its part has a 5-megapixel rear lens. Both also have panoramic mode and LED flash, among other shooting modes. In addition, with its LED Flash no detail will escape us even in low light conditions. The two coincide in their 1.3 MP front lens, useful for making video calls or selfies for social networks. They record video at 720p.
WE RECOMMEND YOU Comparison: Samsung Galaxy S5 vs HTC ONE M8We finish by comparing its prices: the Motorola Moto G has a cost below 200 euros (175 in presale and free on the Amazon website for example), so we can say that it is a balanced phone in terms of quality-price. The Xiaomi Red Rice is a terminal with a similar price, as demonstrated by the 199 euros that we are asked for in pc components. We can conclude that we are talking about cheap devices with good benefits.
