Comparison: samsung galaxy s5 vs xiaomi red rice
After comparing our Samsung Galaxy S5 with the Jiayu G5, it is the turn of another competing Chinese terminal, the Xiaomi Red Rice. As we already know, the Galaxy backed by Android lands directly in the high-end of the market with all its rights since it has incredible features, only that the quality almost always has to be paid and the price of this terminal is already pulling back more one's. We can not say the same of the Xiaomi, a smartphone not so ambitious in benefits, although they are also very competent, in addition to being available for a much lower price.
Design: The Xiaomi Red Rice has dimensions of 125.3 mm high x 64.5 mm wide x 9.9 mm thick and weighs 158 grams. Its back shell is interchangeable, in addition to being made with recycled materials and available in three different colors: Chinese red, metallic gray and ivory white. The Galaxy S5 measures 142 mm high × 72.5 mm wide × 8.1 mm thick and weighs 145 grams. As we can see, the size of the Samsung is offset by its thin thickness, being lighter than the Chinese terminal. The back has small perforations that provide comfort in the grip. Its IP67 certificate means that it is resistant to water and dust. The fingerprint scanner gives you great security. We can find it available in white, black, gold and blue. It features a new, clearer and more intuitive interface, with more visual and easy-to-navigate icons.
Let's see now its processors: the Chinese model has a Quadcore MediaTek MT6589 Turbo CPU with four cores that run at 1.5GHz and a PowerVR SGX544MP graphics chip that allows you to use 3D games and decode 1080p video. For its part, the Samsung presents a Quad-core soc that works at 2.5 GHz. They also differ in terms of their RAM memory since the Red Rice and the Galaxy S5 have 1 GB and 2 GB of memory respectively. The Xiaomi operating system is MIUI V5, which is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy family device brings with it Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat.
Connectivity: the Xiaomi has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and many other very basic connections. The Samsung Galaxy S5 for its part also offers LTE / 4G support .
The Xiaomi screen has IPS technology that gives it a great viewing angle and quality in its colors. It has a size of 4.7 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which gives it 312 dpi. It is also protected against scratches by a Gorilla Glass 2 type glass. The Samsung Galaxy S5 has an excellent 5.1 inches Full HD super AMOLED with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which gives it a density of 432 ppi . This device has protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
We continue with its cameras: the Xiaomi has a good rear lens thanks to its 8 megapixel sensor, a 28 mm wide angle, f / 2.2 aperture, LED flash and capable of making videos at 1080p, but it is not up to the Samsung Galaxy S5, which has an excellent 16 MP rear lens and functions such as Selective Focus (clearly capturing what you want, giving depth and professionalism to your snapshots), higher speed between shots and shots, and a very light sensor precise. The main objective of the Galaxy is to record in UHD 4K quality at 30 fps. Both front cameras have 2 MP. The Chinese model is also capable of recording 1080p video.
Both batteries have a notable difference: the Xiaomi has a capacity of 2000 mAh, while that of the Samsung Galaxy S5 has 2800 mAh. The higher power of the S5 could slightly offset the autonomies of the two terminals, resulting similar.
Internal memory: the Galaxy S5 has two devices for sale with different ROMs: one of 16 GB and the other of 32 GB. For its part, the Chinese model has only 4 GB, which are expandable up to 32 GB via microSD card, which in the case of the S5 goes up to 128 GB.
WE RECOMMEND YOU Xiaomi CC9e: The new mid-range of the brandAvailability and price: the Xiaomi is free for 189 euros on the website of pccomponentes. A more than reasonable price if we compare it with the specifications that the terminal has. The price of the S5 at the moment is above 600 euros (665 - 679 euros, oscillating price according to memory, free terminal, etc.) something that is not available to everyone.
