Comparison: motorola moto x vs samsung galaxy s3
The walk of the new Motorola Moto X through our website has been short but intense. After being compared to its brother the Moto G, now it is the turn of the Samsung Galaxy S3. We do not have a special reason for opting for this terminal and not another, it simply is or has been a "fashionable" smartphone on the market and we believe that it is not wrong to give it another review. In Professional Review we say goodbye with affection to a terminal that for sure, and thanks to its great specifications, has guaranteed success. We start:
Screens: The Moto X has 4.7 inches with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels that gives it a density of 312 pixels per inch. Its AMOLED technology allows it to have more brightness, reflect less sunlight and consume less energy. That of the Galaxy has a size minimally greater than 4.8 inches that also has AMOLED technology and the same resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The S3 is also accompanied by IPS technology, making it possible to have very sharp colors and a wide viewing angle. Both use accident protection thanks to the Corning Gorilla Glass in the case of Moto X and Gorilla Glass 2 in the case of Samsung.
Processors: The Moto X features a 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon Kait 300 SoC and Adreno 320 GPU. The RAM is 2 GB. Its operating system is Android 4.2.2. The Galaxy S3 meanwhile has an Exynos 4 Quad 4-core CPU at 1.4 GHz and Mali400MP graphics chip . It has less RAM memory (1 GB) and Android as an operating system in version 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.
Design: Regarding size, the Moto X is a smaller but thicker smartphone, since it has dimensions of 129.3 mm high x 65.3 mm wide x 10.4 mm thick, compared to 136, 6 mm high × 70.6 mm wide × 8.6 mm thick that occupies the S3. Thanks to the use of a website called Moto Maker we can customize the colors of the case of our Motorola before we get hold of it. We can choose between multiple types of casing, including a wooden one in four options: teak, bamboo, ebony and rosewood, and some 18 different colors, the front being white or black. The Samsung for its part can be found available in navy blue and white.
Batteries: their capacities are rather the same, counting the Moto X with 2200 mAh and the Galaxy with 2100 mAh of capacity. As we can see, both smartphones are accompanied by batteries that will have a not insignificant autonomy, although it will also depend on the type of use that we give to the terminal (games, videos, etc.).
Internal Memory: both smartphones have two models for sale, one 16 GB and the other 32 GB. The Samsung model has the possibility of expanding its memory through a micro SD card up to 64 GB , something that does not happen with the Moto X, which does not have a card slot but has free storage of 50 GB on Google Drive.
Camera: the main objective of the Moto X presents 10 megapixels with a focal aperture of f / 2.4 which, together with the clear pixel sensor, makes the camera receive 75% more light, something to keep in mind when taking photos in a poor lighting. It also has other functions such as autofocus, LED flash, geo-tagging, quick capture, panorama mode, face and smile detection. Its front camera is 2 megapixels. Video recording is done in Full HD 1080p at 30 fps. The Galaxy S3 for its part features 8 megapixels, with BSI technology (which improves snapshots in low light conditions), in addition to an LED flash. Its front camera has 1.3 megapixels, useful in any case for video conferencing or photography. As for the video recordings, they are made in HD 720p at 30 fps.
WE RECOMMEND YOU VIA CenTaur NCORE AI: an AI chip that amazes the CPU sectorConnectivity: 4G / LTE support makes an appearance on both terminals (although in the case of Samsung according to market). They also have more basic connections such as WiFi, 3G, Bluetooth or FM radio.
Availability and price: this terminal can be ours from the Amazon website, where they have it in pre-sale for 399 euros. The S3 for its part is a phone that is currently around 300 euros as a free terminal, whose prices vary around 20 euros depending on the color of the device (seen on pccomponentes.com).
