Comparison: xiaomi red rice vs samsung galaxy s4
After comparing our favorite Chinese model with the Samsun Galaxy S3, it is the turn of the older brother of the family: the Galaxy S4. This smartphone backed by Android lands directly in the high-end of the market with all its rights as it has incredible features, only that the quality almost always has to be paid for and the price of this terminal already pulls more than one behind. We can not say the same of the Xiaomi, a smartphone not so ambitious in benefits, although they are also very competent, in addition to being available for a much lower price.
Design: The Xiaomi Red Rice has dimensions of 125.3 mm high x 64.5 mm wide x 9.9 mm thick and weighs 158 grams. Its back shell is interchangeable, in addition to being made with recycled materials and available in three different colors: Chinese red, metallic gray and ivory white. The Galaxy S4 measures 136.6 mm high × 69.8 mm wide × 7.9 mm thick and weighs 130 grams. As we can see, the size of the Samsung is offset by its thin thickness, being lighter than the Chinese terminal.
Let's see now its processors: the Chinese model has a Quadcore MediaTek MT6589 Turbo CPU with four cores that run at 1.5GHz and a PowerVR SGX544MP graphics chip that allows you to use 3D games and decode 1080p video. For its part, the Samsung presents a Socom Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 at 1.9 GHz. They also differ in terms of their RAM memory since the Red Rice and the Galaxy S4 have 1 GB and 2 GB of memory respectively. The Xiaomi operating system is MIUI V5, which is based on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The Galaxy family device brings with it Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.
Connectivity : the Xiaomi has WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and many other very basic connections. The Samsung Galaxy 4 for its part also offers LTE / 4G support.
The Xiaomi screen has IPS technology that gives it a great viewing angle and quality in its colors. It has a size of 4.7 inches and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which gives it 312 dpi. It is also protected against scratches by a Gorilla Glass 2 type glass. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has an excellent 4.99 inches Full HD super AMOLED with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, which gives it a density of 441 ppi . This device has protection from Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
We continue with its cameras: the Xiaomi has a good rear lens thanks to its 8 megapixel Samsung sensor, a 28 mm wide angle, f / 2.2 aperture and capable of making videos at 1080p, but it is not up to the Samsung Galaxy S4 has an excellent 13 MP rear lens and a high resolution of 4128 x 3096 pixels. Both devices have an LED flash. The front cameras of the Samsung and the Xiaomi have 2 MP and 1.3 MP respectively. The Chinese model is also capable of recording 1080p video.
Both batteries have a notable difference: the Xiaomi has a capacity of 2000 mAh, while that of the Samsung Galaxy S4 has 2600 mAh. The higher power of the S4 could compensate a little the autonomies of the two terminals, being similar.
Internal memory: the Galaxy S3 has three devices for sale with different ROMs: one of 16 GB, another of 32 GB and the last one of 64 GB. If we opt for those with less memory, we can enjoy a microSD slot to expand its capacity to 64 GB. For its part, the Chinese model has only 4 GB, which are expandable up to 32 GB.
WE RECOMMEND YOU Comparison: Motorola Moto G vs Nokia Lumia 520Availability and price: the Xiaomi is free for 199 euros on the website of pccomponentes. A more than reasonable price if we compare it with the specifications that the terminal has. The price of the S4 at the moment is above 400 euros (oscillating price according to memory, free terminal, etc.), which is not bad for the quality of this high-end, although not everyone can afford it.
