During a recent question and answer session on Reddit, AMD financial analyst Raja Koduri has confirmed that the manufacturer RTG plans to present the Radeon RX Vega during a press conference on May 31 at Computex 2017.

AMD Radeon RX Vega will be exposed at Computex

According to Koduri's statement, although the Radeon RX Vega is present at Computex, the new graphics card will not hit stores that week.

“We are going to present the Radeon RX Vega at Computex, but it will not be in stores that week. We already know how eager you are to get your hands on the Radeon RX Vega, and we are working hard to deliver an incredibly powerful graphics card. Developing products with billions of transistors and innovative architecture is very difficult, but extremely rewarding. We are working as hard as possible to launch the Radeon RX Vega ”

On the other hand, the representative of RTG also said that the AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition will have two HBM2 memory stacks, although he hopes that the 480 GB / s bandwidth is sufficient for most workflows. This means that Vega will use HBM2 8-Hi stacks.

"As for the HBM2, we are incorporating technology that has been limited so far to super expensive GPUs and out of reach for many users. Right now only the most expensive graphics cards from our competitors make use of it, but unfortunately these cards are not within the reach of any gamer or casual user ”.

"The good news is that unlike HBM1, HBM2 is offered by multiple memory vendors, including Samsung and Hynix, and production is increasing to meet the level of demand we believe Radeon Vega products will have when they hit the market.".

When asked about the difference between Vega's water and air-cooled versions, Koduri explained that there are slight variations in the clock's frequency, which could affect performance. At the moment there are not too many details on this matter, so we do not know if it was referring to the Frontier Edition or possibly a RX Vega with water cooling.

Finally, when asked about the performance of the RX Vega compared to the Frontier Edition, Raja Koduri said that "some versions of the RX Vega" will be faster than the Frontier Edition.
