Want to know more about her? Go ahead, keep reading our review in Spanish.

First of all, we are grateful to Corsair for the trust placed in giving us the product for its review.

Technical characteristics Corsair Carbide 400C

Corsair Carbide 400C: Unboxing and exterior

We find a simple, robust presentation with very good intentions for the environment. On the front we have an illustration of the box and a brief introduction to the technical specifications of the product.

Inside we find:

  • Corsair Carbide 400C box. Instruction manual. Mounting hardware. Flanges.

The Corsair Carbide 400C has dimensions of 425 x 215 x 464 mm (width x height x depth) and a weight of 8.2 Kg. Its appearance is quite very minimalist and attractive for a clean desk. Our first impressions are that it is a mid / high range tower that has a cost of about 140 to 160 euros, but really its price is much lower. So watch out guys!

The front is made of plastic and is completely smooth. In the lower right area we see the Corsair logo engraved.

Once located in the upper area, we find two USB 3.0 connections, an audio input and output, the reset button and the on / off button.

Following the roof we find a magnetic filter that covers almost the entire surface. This is very useful for removing dust and lint that tries to get inside the tower.

On the left side we find a small methacrylate window that opens thanks to a latch. It has no security mechanism to prevent it from being opened by strangers, but its appearance is top notch.

We recommend you read the best ITX boxes on the market.

While on the right side we find a simple surface with nothing to highlight.

On the rear face of the Corsair Carbide 400C we find a 120 fan outlet , the expansion slots and the hole for the power supply.

Already located in the lowest area of the tower we find four rubber feet that have an anti-slip system attached to a filter.

Corsair Carbide 400C Interior

The Corsair Carbide 400C is compatible with E-ATX, ATX, micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboards and incorporates a total of 7 expansion slots. Its internal structure is made of SECC steel and is painted in matt black. This will be great for us to display our PC as it should be.

The 400C allows us to install heatsinks with a maximum height of 17 cm, graphics cards of 37 cm and power supplies with a length of 20 cm.

The power supply has a small plastic compartment… What is it for? It serves to give the box a better presence with a design: linear and that avoids seeing so many cables.

On cooling, it allows us to install three 120 or 140 mm fans in the front, two 120 or 140 mm ceiling fans in the tower, and one 120 mm in the rear. Both on the roof and on the front it has the so-called magnetic filters. There is no fan on the floor, but it also incorporates it.

Regarding storage, it has a 3.5 ″ hard drive cabin in the lower area and having a completely smooth front, it does not have 5.25 ″ bays for optical drives.

The installation of all storage media can be done without the need for tools.

Once the screws on the right side have been removed, we find the face where we will organize all the tower wiring. We find three dedicated areas for 2.5 ″ SSDs and enough space to organize all the cabling. We also have access to the cabin of the two hard drives.

Final words and conclusion

The Corsair Carbide 400C is an excellent mid-tower. You have the perfect dimensions to display it on any desk and it is dominated by its simplicity and excellent air flow.

Due to its design it allows to install high-end components: graphics cards up to 37 cm, heatsinks of 17 and sources of 20 cm. It also allows the installation of a liquid cooling system with a 280mm radiator and a 360mm radiator on the front.

Above the storage it has a removable 3.5 / 2.5 ″ hard drive enclosure and the back the possibility to install SSD drives in three simple racks.

Apart from the 400C, there is a variant for users looking for silence: 400Q. The latter comes with a sound deadening system and no window (much like the Corsair Carbide 600Q). We can currently find the Corsair Carbide 400C available for a price of 109 euros.
