Corsair H100i Pro is the brand's new bet in the competitive sector of pre-assembled liquid PC coolers. It is a model with a 240mm radiator, with a very quiet water pump, and fans that put the finishing touch with its RGB LED lighting and Zero RPM operating mode.

Do you want to know more about this efficient liquid cooling? Do not miss our complete analysis in Spanish. Let's start!

As always, we thank Corsair Spain for its trust in the transfer of the product for analysis.

Corsair H100i Pro technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

We find a presentation very familiar to other Corsair liquid coolers, this kit comes in a high quality cardboard box, which is based on a design with corporate colors and a full color image of the cooling system. All the printing on the box is of high quality, a sign that we are talking about one of the largest in the sector.

We open the box and find the Corsair H100i Pro heatsink very well protected to avoid damage during transport. All parts are wrapped in a plastic bag to protect its delicate surface. In total we find the following budle:

  • Corsair H100i Pro liquid cooling kit .Instruction manual and quick guide. Two 120mm Corsair ML fans with RGB lighting. Support for both Intel and AMD. Various hardware for installation.

Corsair H100i Pro is an all-in-one liquid cooler, which is fully sealed at the factory and designed to avoid the need for any maintenance. It is therefore an ideal system for all users who want to enjoy the benefits of liquid cooling without having to worry about its maintenance. Its dimensions are 276 mx 125 mm x 30 mm, so it should fit without problems in its chassis with two 120 mm holes in the front or in the roof, although you should measure it before to avoid unpleasant surprises.

It has an aluminum fin radiator with a size of 240mm x 120mm. This radiator is based on an optimized design to offer the maximum heat exchange surface with the air generated by the fans.

The larger the surface, the greater the capacity to dissipate heat, which is why it is the key to achieving good thermal performance. The radiator is made up of a plastic and rubber structure, thereby achieving a great seal to prevent evaporation of the fluid inside.

The inside of the radiator is filled with a coolant fluid prepared to avoid the existence of algae or any type of microorganism, it will also help to avoid chemical corrosion that occurs in the mixture of aluminum and copper. The two hoses that connect them to the CPU block start from this radiator, which we will talk about next.

The CPU block follows the Corsair trend with a very pleasing to the eye design and very quiet operation. This block includes an RGB LED lighting system on the top which forms the brand's logo and is manageable using Corsair iCUE software.

This system can be configured in 16.8 million colors and multiple light effects, which will help you give a distinctive touch to your PC. This block includes a microUSB connector to connect with the Corsair iCUE software needed to manage the RGB lighting of the cooler, control the temperature of the CPU and the coolant, and adjust the speed of the fan and the pump, all from a single intuitive interface.

The base of the block is made of high-quality, highly polished pure copper, ensuring perfect contact with the processor IHS to maximize heat transfer. This base comes with pre-applied thermal compound, which makes it as easy to install as possible.

For its installation it has a 3-pin connector to give life to the pump and a small thief that allows us to connect the two 120 mm fans on the same head. Corsair has included the Zero RPM mode for the fans, which will keep you turned off until the processor temperature reaches a threshold, from which point they will start spinning. What advantage does this have? The heatsink will be quieter when the PC is under low load.

As for the fans, we have two high-performance Corsair ML120s. Among its technical characteristics we find a speed of 400 RPM and 2, 400 RPM to be able to choose between silent or maximum total cooling, a static pressure of 4.2 mm H2O, a maximum noise level of 37 dB (A) and an air flow of 75 CFM.

These fans have magnetic levitation bearings, which ensures frictionless operation and a lower noise level, it also has the advantage that its life is extended by reducing friction wear

The Corsair H100i Pro is compatible with all major current platforms including Intel LGA 775 / 115x / 1366/2011 / 2011-3 / 2066 and AM FM2 + / FM2 / FM1 / AM3 + / AM4 / AM3 / AM2 + / AM2. Without a doubt, it offers great possibilities if we want to upgrade to another platform in the future. Chapó Corsair!

Assembly and installation on LGA 2066 platform

For our tests we are going to use the most popular platform on the market, the Intel LGA 2066 with an X299 motherboard and a Core i9 7900x processor from the Coffee Lake family. The first thing is to put the four screws in the socket.

Next, we place the processor block on top of the socket, remember that it already has thermal paste applied. The next step is to place the CPU block and fix it with the screws.

We just need to connect the SATA power to our power supply, the 3-pin connector to the motherboard and connect the fans. Ready to turn on the computer? Go for it!

To test the actual performance of the heatsink we are going to stress with the powerful Intel Core i7-7900X at stock speed. As usual, our tests consist of 72 uninterrupted hours of work in stock values, since being a ten-core processor and with high frequencies, temperatures can be high.

In this way, we can observe the highest temperature peaks and the average that the heatsink reaches. We must bear in mind that when playing or using other types of software, the temperature will drop dramatically between 7 to 12ºC.

How are we going to measure the processor temperature? For this test we will use the internal sensors of the processor under the supervision of the HWiNFO64 application in its latest version. We believe it is one of the best monitoring software that exists today. Without further delay, we leave you the results obtained:

ICUE software

We were among the first to analyze iCUE software and we see it as something more mature. As always, he reads the Corsair products that we have installed on our computer: hardware, peripherals or lighting systems. In our case, the Corsair K63 Wireless that we have in our test bench also detected us.

One of the main functions it incorporates is RGB lighting. As standard, it allows us to choose between various forms of lighting, its speed and the colors to select.

It also allows us to choose between various profiles for the fans and the pump. Standard comes with Quiet, which maintains the pump at 1100 RPM and the fans at 800 RPM. Although the most interesting options is the Zero RPM that keeps the fans off until the processing temperature rises. One last!

Do you want to take the monitoring of your entire system? Corsair gives us the possibility to see the temperatures and the condition of the fans with two clicks.

Finally, we have the possibility to create notifications when the temperatures reach an excessive temperature. In this way, we can quickly go to regulate the fans or insert a profile more appropriate to our needs.

Final words and conclusion about Corsair H100i Pro

Corsair offers a lot of compact liquid cooling kits on the market, so many that we can get busy looking for the difference between one model and another. But the Corsair H100i Pro is the first with the Zero RPM technology. If you have not read the analysis we will quickly summarize it for you: this technology allows the fans to be stopped under low load while the temperatures are healthy for the processor. When the temperature rises, it starts working by perfectly cooling the CPU.

Another of the best compared to other Corsair kits, is that it is much quieter, both in terms of fans and the pump that integrates within the block. We think it is the quietest cooling kit on the market next to the Be Quiet Loop. They compete from you to you.

All our tests have been passed with the balanced profile, since the difference between high performance and quiet, at least in temperatures, was minimal. We have achieved great results with our i9-7900X in stock speed.

It is already available in the main online stores in Spain for a price of 122.99 euros. We believe that it is a highly recommended option if we need a high-performance computer but we want to prioritize it with a lot of silence.
