Corsair K55 RGB technical specifications
Unboxing and design
The packaging of the Corsair K55 RGB presents a very colorful and quite usual aesthetic in the manufacturer's products, it is filling with color and we see an image of the product on its cover. In addition, the model is screen printed in large letters and we highlight its lighting system " Dynamic Multicolor Backlight ".
While in the rear area we have all the technical characteristics of the product. Once we open the box we find:
- Corsair K55 RGB keyboard. Instruction manual. Wrist rest with rubber surface. Quick guide.
The Corsair K55 RGB has measurements of 480.2 mm x 166.3 mm x 34.6 mm and a weight of 822 grams, it is a keyboard quite heavy to be of the membrane type so the manufacturer has included a fairly robust internal steel plate. As we can see in the images, the keyboard continues with its strongest characteristics that differentiates it from the rest: it is built by a premium brushed aluminum surface and a very minimalist design. The keyboard includes a total of 6 additional keys for macros and dedicated multimedia controls.
This design makes cleaning options much easier and gains many integers in aesthetics.
The keyboard is distributed in 104 keys consisting of the alpha-numeric zone, full numeric keyboard and function keys in the upper zone. It is a highly recommended keyboard for all types of users looking for a unit of the highest quality and with membrane technology for much quieter operation than mechanical ones. Without a doubt we are in front of one of the best keyboards on the market
In the upper right corner we have the brightness keys, which allows adjusting from 25, 50, 75 to 100% brightness. While the second button allows us to block the Windows key. We also find the keys dedicated to multimedia functions such as adjusting the volume and forward, reverse, pause and resume playback functions. We can see that on the sides there is no frame that protects the buttons, which greatly facilitates the cleaning of the keys and the base of the keyboard itself.

It is also important to mention the keyboard incorporates both the N-Key Rollover (NKRO) technology and the always useful Anti-Ghosting that improve both the gaming and daily experience.
In the rear area of the keyboard we find the rubber feet that offer two positions to lift the keyboard if the user wishes, and four other rubber bands that prevent the keyboard from slipping, along with a product identification label. It seems to us a very successful design and we congratulate Corsair for the piece of keyboard they have assembled.

No software needed
The Corsair K55 RGB does not need any software since all its actions are done through key combinations, it is something that some users may find negative but it has the great advantage that we can take full advantage of it in any operating system, a virtue that many keyboards do not offer us. The most notable functions are lighting and macro management.
- FN + upper number keys: color lighting and effects management FN + MR: macro recording on the 6 dedicated keys.
Final words and conclusion about Corsair K55 RGB
We have been using the Corsair K55 RGB keyboard for several days both writing articles for the web and playing games and doing other various tasks. The keyboard has behaved in an excellent way all the time with a performance that has not made us miss our mechanical keyboard. The pulsations are very smooth and precise so that excessive fatigue is not noticed after a long day of use.
Its aluminum structure is very pleasant both to the touch and easy to clean and its RGB lighting system offers great customization possibilities. Another of its strongest points is the incorporation of a very ergonomic wrist rest that offers a soft touch. Without a doubt, one of the most comfortable in long gaming sessions.
We recommend reading our guide to the best keyboards on the market.
Finally, the management of all its functions through key combinations is a success that will allow all users to take full advantage of it regardless of the platform on which they use it. There is no doubt that the Corsair K55 RGB is an excellent keyboard for everyone.
