Corsair SF450 technical specifications

Corsair SF450 Unboxing and Design

Corsair makes a gala presentation for its SF450 power supply. First we see a cover with an image of the SFX power supply and in large letters the product model. While in the back we have all the most important technical characteristics of the product in six different languages.

Once we open the box we find:

  • Corsair SF450 power supply. Modular Cable Kit Set Instruction Manual Power Cord Screws for Installation and Flanges

The Corsair SF450 has dimensions of 129 x 62 x 99 mm and a low weight of 1 kg. Its design reminds us a lot of the RMi series of ATX format that we already analyzed a few months ago. The dominant colors are black and gray, which gives it an elegant touch.

Going deeper, we find a core manufactured by the Great Wall team and is fully compatible with any platform on the market. Both Intel Mainstream (Intel Skylake i7) or the enthusiastic platform commanded by the i7-5820k.

It also incorporates a 92mm fan that uses the semi fanless function. What does Semi Fanless mean? This technology keeps the fan stopped at low and medium load, and only starts when the power supply reaches its components at 45 / 50º degrees. This consumption is done when you get the most out of your computer: games, rendering, editing videos…

If you look at its sticker we have all the characteristics of the lanes. As we can see it has a single + 12V rail of 37.5A (amps) that will provide a total of 450W actual.

The cable management is totally modular, which allows us to carry out clean assemblies. The cables are somewhat longer than what we usually find in this power supply. The wiring set consists of:

  • 24 pin ATX4 + 4 pin EPS / ATX12V6 + 2 pin PCI-E and another 6 + 2 pin PCI-ECable 5.25 ″ x2 + 3.5 ″ Sata Cable with 4 connections.

Final words and conclusion

The Corsair SF450 is one of the best SFX power supplies that we can buy today. It has everything a power supply could ask for: loudness, efficiency, modular cables and a 7-year warranty.

WE RECOMMEND YOU ThunderX3 TK50 Review

We have used our most powerful test bench with an i7-5820k, 16GB of RAM, SSD and a GTX 980 Ti graphics card at maximum performance. The results have been 77 W at rest and 420 W in full performance. They really are quite surprising to have almost the same performance as a 600W SFX source… So your SF600 version will have even better performance.

Currently you can buy it in online stores for a price of approximately 125 to 140 euros. One of the best SFX fonts with semi-fanless technology.
