Unboxing and design

Corsair reuses corporate colors for its primary packaging. On the cover of the same we find an image of the memory module in question, in large letters the model, capacity and speed of the same. While at the back we see all the main technical characteristics in different languages.

Once we open the box we find:

Two Corsair Vengeance LED DDR4 modules. Plastic blister to protect it during transport.

The pack consists of two DDR4 modules of 8GB each, making a total of 16GB. Both with a base speed of 3200 Mhz and a CL16 latency (16-18-18-36) with a voltage ranging from 1.20 v that can vary according to its speed up to 1.35 v.

As expected, the modules are 100% compatible with the new XMP 2.0 profile that integrates the new Z170 platforms and the refresh of the X99. It is one of the best ranges of RAM memory (along with the Corsair Dominator) that we have analyzed to date.

The design is truly spectacular and grows with the lower models of the company, almost positioning itself at the level of the Corsair Dominator Platinum. Although we must bear in mind that these are high-profile memories and we may have problems with mastodon heatsinks… but with good liquid cooling the design will be spectacular.

Another point to keep in mind that the memory chips have been chosen by hand to offer the greatest possible overclocking and inside the PCB it incorporates up to 10 layers to offer greater performance. This allows us to have a better bandwidth and a very tight response time.

We have used a top of the range Z170 motherboard and an i7-6700k processor that we have been using for many months in our test bench. All the results have been passed with the 3200 MHz profile and the applied voltage of 1.35V in Dual Channel. Let's go see them!
