We really wanted to try testing memories with frequencies above 3200 MHz and Corsair has sent us an excellent Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600 MHz kit with 64GB capacity in Quad Channel format for the new X299 platform. Will we have extra performance or is it better to opt for lower frequencies?
We thank Corsair Spain for trusting the product for its analysis.
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 technical features
Unboxing and design
Corsair presents the memories in a compact cardboard box where we see an image of a memory module, which incorporates a refrigeration kit and the main compatibility certifications. While at the back we see all the main technical characteristics in different languages.
Once we open the box we find:
- Four Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 modules. P / N: CMK64GX4M4B3600C18. Plastic blister to protect it during transportation. AirFlow cooling kit.
The pack consists of four DDR4 modules of 16 GB each, for a total of 64 GB. They are proven to run at a maximum frequency of 3600 Mhz and a latency CL15 (15-15-15-36) with a voltage ranging from 1.20 v that can vary according to its speed up to + 1.35 v.
As expected, the modules are 100% compatible with the new XMP 2.0 profile that integrates the new Z270, X99 and recent X299 platforms. Due to its characteristics it is one of the best ranges of RAM memory that have passed our test bench.
We already know the design from previous reviews of the LPX series. Having a “low profile” design, it is compatible with all heatsinks on the market and liquid cooling. Another of its details is that it lacks RGB lighting, some of you will be surprised, but Corsair has chosen to offer quality to have a design that enters through the eyes. Currently we can buy this pack in different colors: black, red, blue or white .
It has a PCB of up to 10 layers that gives us greater performance and a large overclocking capacity, thus improving bandwidth and a much tighter response time. In addition to a pure aluminum heat sink for faster heat dissipation and cooler operation. Everything a success! Both in elegance and product quality.

We have used a top of the range X299 motherboard and an i7-7800X processor that we have recently purchased for our test bench. All the results have been passed with the 3600 MHz profile and applying a voltage of 1.35V in its Quad Channel mode. Let's see the results obtained!
Final words and conclusion about Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600 MHz
The Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 in its 64GB version in four modules and a speed of 3600 MHz are excellent high performance RAM memories. As we have seen in our test bench with the X299 platform, the performance is really great, seeing the extra that it can offer us at speeds from 2400 MHz to 3600 MHz.
Where we see a greater increase is in heavy tasks, although in games the differences are quite minor. Very recently we were talking about the performance in games with several tables of the little that is gained at these speeds. Although we can confirm that the performance is great on the X299 platform and you only have to activate the XMP 2.0 profile in BIOS and they work directly.
Its price in stores varies depending on the amount of memory you want and the speed. Currently this kit (CMK64GX4M4B3600C18) is available in online stores for a price of 683 euros. A price that is only available to very specific users.
