Unboxing and design

As usually happens with all chassis, the Cougar Panzer EVO has arrived in a large cardboard box with the natural color of this material. We open the box and find the chassis along with the documentation and all the accessories necessary for assembly.

The Cougar Panzer EVO is covered by a plastic bag and accommodated by cork pieces to prevent it from moving during transport, the manufacturer has put a lot of care to make it reach the end user's hands in the best possible conditions.

Cougar Panzer EVO is a chassis in which the focus of attention has been on aesthetics, something that is demonstrated with the presence of two large tempered glass windows on the side and the front, behind which three 120 fans are hidden mm with red lighting, something that makes it look really good.

Thanks to the large side window, we can appreciate the interior of the equipment in great detail, something very important to enjoy the great aesthetics and lighting of all the components of today.

We are talking about a very large chassis, with a complete ATX tower format and with dimensions of 612 x 266 x 556 mm, which will allow us to install the largest motherboards and all kinds of components without space limitations.

Two handles have been placed on the top to make it easier to transport the equipment and a hook to hang the headphones, in this way we can take it to events or to our friends' house in a much more comfortable way. These handles support a weight of up to 35 Kg, so there will be no problems when transporting it.

The legs have been placed at the bottom to guarantee the best support on our table or the floor, they are rubberized to prevent them from transmitting vibrations and entering into resonance.

In the upper corner we see the panel with all the connection ports and buttons, the manufacturer has mounted two USB 3.1 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, 3.5 mm connectors for audio and micro, and the buttons for power, reset and speed control of the included fans. It is a fairly complete panel, a success in this regard.

If you look at its rear, we see the area of the power supply at the bottom, as we expect from a high-end chassis in the year 2018. The seven expansion slots are also appreciated, and the 120 fan mm to get the hot air out, this one also has red lighting. Next to the expansion slots, we see the holes that we can use to pass the tubes of a custom liquid cooling system, allowing us to use an external pump and reservoir to expand its capabilities.

Interior and assembly

We remove the tempered glass panel and access the interior of the Cougar Panzer EVO, this large chassis allows us to install an E-ATX, L-ATX, ATX, Micro-ATX and Mini-ITX motherboard, in this sense it is one of the models that offer us the most options, something that will be highly appreciated by the most demanding users.

This chassis will allow us to mount a CPU heatsink with a height of up to 170 mm, and graphics cards of up to 390 mm, so we will not have any space problems in this regard.

We continue to see the benefits of the Cougar Panzer EVO with its great cooling capacities, since its three 120mm front fans can be replaced by two 140mm fans, we can add no less than three 120 / 140mm fans on top, a 120 / 140mm fan at the bottom and 120mm rear that is already included. All the fans are protected by anti-dust filters, to prevent the entrance of dirt and to keep our equipment as the first day for a long time. Regarding liquid cooling, we can install 360 mm / 280 mm / 240 mm radiators / 140mm / 120mm at the top and front, 140mm / 120mm at the bottom and 120mm at the rear, as we see, the possibilities are excellent in this regard.

To remove the fairing from the power supply we must press on the lower central part ( previously removed the rear safety screw ) and we can access this large hole.

As we can see in the images we have no limitations and we have enough space to hide all the wiring that we do not need. ?

Now we go to the opposite side and we see the area that looks the least in all the chassis. As for storage, it offers us the possibility of installing two 3.5-inch hard drives and up to six 2.5-inch hard drives, two of which share bays with those of 3.5 inches. It is honestly one of those We have been more impressed by its price. What a pass!

How has the montage gone? Everything has been quite simple and with a high-end equipment: AMD Ryzen 2700X, X470 motherboard, 16 GB of RAM, modular source with sleeving and an AMD RX VEGA 56 has offered us excellent performance and which is visually wonderful.

Assembling the entire system has taken us about 20 minutes and re-arranging wiring an extra 15 minutes. To finish we leave you an image of how it looks from the front. It looks great!

Final words and conclusion about Cougar Panzer EVO

The Cougar Panzer EVO chassis is positioned on the market as one of the best high-end chassis alternatives. With four panels of dark tempered glass, brutal lighting, great compatibility for graphics cards, heatsinks, liquid cooling and power supplies make it the ideal choice.

We have chosen to mount a high-end system: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X processor, 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, a 1 TB SSD, an AMD RX VEGA 56 GPU and an 850W 80 Plus Platinum power supply. The results have been magnificent and it has looked great (you can see it in the previous images).

Special mention for the upper handles for transport. Although it is a chassis that weighs a lot, much of the fault lies with the tempered glass, being able to transport such a box in such a simple way is greatly appreciated.

Its price in Spain is 160 euros. We believe that it is the best quality / price ratio and that if you personally had to buy an ATX chassis with tempered glass, you would opt for the Cougar Panzer EVO.
