Crucial MX300 with 3D Nand Memory Announced
Table of contents:
Micron has announced its new Crucial MX300 Solid State Drive (SSD) which marks the brand's debut in 3D NAND memory for high-capacity drives at much lower prices.
Crucial MX300 with high-density 3D NAND memory
Its announcement was expected for the month of June at Computex, but finally the Crucial MX300 is now official although we will have to wait a bit for its purchase since they are still in production, anyway its arrival on the market is expected for this same April so the wait will be short.
Micron's new 3D NAND memory chips are built with 32 layers stacked to achieve a high density of 246 Gb, double what could be achieved using a conventional "flat" memory design in a 16nm manufacturing process. This cuts the manufacturing price of the chips in half and opens the door for us to soon see new high-capacity SSDs at much lower prices in late 2016.
