In general, their products are largely geared towards providing the best possible performance on tight budgets, so they hardly ever target the highest range. With this in mind, they have launched their new Deepcool Gammaxx L240 liquid cooler, with which Deepcool is looking to propel the brand into the exciting realms of AIO liquid coolers.

Unboxing and design

The combination of black and light blue colors is evident in the products we have tried from the Deepcool brand. The manufacturer has placed a picture of the liquid refrigeration in the upper area. As well as all the synchronization options of the motherboard available with the RGB lighting of the main manufacturers of motherboards.

The back of the packaging contains all the most important features. We see compatibility with the heatsinks, fans included, kit noise and a small image with the dimensions of the radiator, pump and length of the pipes.

Deepcool Gammaxx L240 Liquid Cooler has a classic appearance but at the same time quality. It has a 240mm radiator that would allow us to keep the temperatures of high-end processors at bay such as the Intel Core i9-9900k, Ryzen 7 2700X or an Intel Core i9-7900X.

The block has a very minimalist circular design, in which we can quickly install the anchors for the AMD or Intel socket. As we can see in the gallery images, the entire block is made of copper, so the heat transfer is maximum.

It has a smooth surface and that will make direct contact with our processor. One of the great improvements to this kit is its RGB lighting system, which is compatible with both Asus, MSI, Gigabyte and ASRock lighting technologies.

It seems to us a fact to keep in mind that the pump works at a speed of 2550 RPM for proper performance and has a low noise level of 10 dBa.

We like that Deepcool Gammaxx L240 has chosen a low-density fin pattern that allows heat to pass quickly with the fantastic fans it incorporates. We also have a drain plug, but it has a guarantee seal. Our recommendation is that once the warranty ends, we proceed to make a new filling with liquid. With this we will gain we will lower some degrees.

We do not have to worry about the installation of the radiator in our chassis, we just have to take into account that the Deepcool Gammaxx L240 that the length of the pipes is 310 mm. As in most modern kits they are thick and very flexible tubes, which helps us to mount it without any leakage. It seems to us a refrigeration kit: Good, nice and cheap.

Deepcool has chosen to add a kit of two 120mm fans with quality bearings. The fans have transparent blades that light up thanks to the LEDs that make up the fan. It has small notches that allow the air to increase its power while working.

The fans run at a minimum speed of 500 RPM and go up to 1800 RPM. Its air flow is 63.34 CFM and its loudness is 30 dBa. That is, at no time should you listen to your cooling pump, before you will hear any fan in your chassis.

Installation on the LGA 2066 platform

The Deepcool Gammaxx L240 heatsink offers us the possibility of installing it on any Intel or AMD platform. From the oldest sockets to the most modern. In our case we will use one of the simplest installations, that of the LGA 2066 socket X299 platform.

Although perhaps you will notice it is a bit more complicated during the installation of the RGB lighting system. We must use a controller for all the fans to the PWM HUB and then connect all the lighting on its switch. The most complicated thing will be organizing the wiring and that everything is well hidden, but with a little patience we will get it quickly.

To test the actual performance of the heatsink we are going to stress with the powerful Intel Core i9-7900k at stock speed. As usual, our tests consist of 72 uninterrupted hours of work in stock values, since being a ten-core processor and with high frequencies, temperatures can be high.

In this way, we can observe the highest temperature peaks and the average that the heatsink reaches. We must bear in mind that when playing or using other types of software, the temperature will drop dramatically between 7 to 12ºC.

How are we going to measure the processor temperature? For this test we will use the internal sensors of the processor under the supervision of the HWiNFO64 application in its latest version. We believe it is one of the best monitoring software that exists today. Without further delay, we leave you the results obtained:

Final words and conclusion about Deepcool Gammaxx L240

It is time to evaluate the Deepcool Gammaxx L240 liquid cooling kit. We are surprised that a kit with an amount less than 90 euros is so complete and with such a good result in our test bench.

With a good 240mm radiator it is capable of withstanding the temperatures of AMD Ryzen, TR4 processors or Intel's enthusiastic CPU i9 platform very well.
