New obs optimized for geforce rtx available: upgrade your streams
Table of contents:
Nvidia has announced the new OBS optimized for GeForce RTX, an update that will give better quality to game captures and streaming. Surely this will interest many people who are dedicated to the live broadcast of online games in high resolutions, and best of all, the program will be optimized to only do it with a PC.
New OBS optimized for RTX
The best thing about this new version of OBS in which Nvidia has actively collaborated, is that we will be able to take advantage of the power of GPUs with Turing technology, including RTX 2060, to be able to broadcast on major platforms such as YouTube or Twitch for the best possible quality and only using a PC.
We already know that this capture software is one of the most used today by streamers around the world to broadcast your content live or recorded. So updating and optimizing for the new RTX is a very important step for both the brand and the users themselves. This is possible because RTXs have a dedicated hardware encoder (NVENC) that eliminates the need to use a CPU to encode video.
This new update will improve the impact of FPS transmission by up to 66%, so LAG and poor FPS rates for retransmissions will be largely over. In titles like Fortnite or PUBG we will get an increase of up to 48% in FPS compared to x264 Fast and 26% compared to x264 Very Fast.
In addition, these new Nvidia RTX need lower bit rates to achieve the same quality in H.264, so the workload will be less from the beginning and the Bitrate will be improved significantly.
The manufacturer also shows us some game screenshots so that we can appreciate the results and the improvements that we will obtain with the new OBS optimized for RTX.
We certainly see better sharpness in better defined and detailed images and edges. We trust that the results are 100% original, but this aspect can always be verified directly by users who have an RTX and use OBS. We do not necessarily have to retransmit at high resolutions, since in 1080p @ 60 it is recommended to have a rise of at least 6 Mbps. In lower FPS rates such as 720p @ 30 or 720p @ 60 we can always adjust a bit rate between 2, 5 and 5 Mbps to also obtain substantial improvements.
We are very interested that if you are streamers or use OBS together with Nvidia RTX, you will tell us if there are really improvements in the quality of broadcasting. In this way all users will know the experience on different PCs and configurations with this new package.
