Doom Eternal will land in just two days, and according to early reviews it's damn good. At least campaign mode, since everything else seems like a big surprise.
Doom Eternal will not incorporate a Deathmatch mode
Doom Eternal is a brilliant game and worthy successor to its predecessors. While it may be lacking here and there trying to be something it isn't, the combat system is truly brilliant and its design makes up for any other flaws. Judging only by the campaign, Doom Eternal is well worth our time and money, especially for Doom (2016) fans.
But what about multiplayer? Well, in case you are wondering, the traditional deathmatch deathmatch mode has been removed. Bethesda Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communication Pete Hines explained exactly why this decision was made in an interview with Shacknews:
We recommend reading: Advanced PC / Gaming Configuration.
That said, Doom will have a new battle mode designed by id Software, where a Slayer will take on two demons controlled by enemy players in intense best-of-five-round battles. You can take a good look at this mode in the following video, achieved during the 2020 Bethesda Game Days at this year's PAX East. Good hunting!
