Apple A11 Bionic faces Intel processors

The Apple A11 Bionic processor is manufactured using TSMC's 10nm FinFET process to deliver superior energy efficiency than achieved with the 14nm FinFET of the Apple A10. This reduction in nm has allowed Apple to increase the amount of circuitry inside the processor with the obvious benefits that this brings in terms of overall performance. Apple A11 Bionic is a six-core processor that is divided into two high-performance cores and four low-power cores for less demanding tasks.

The high-performance cores offer a 25% improvement compared to what was offered by its predecessor the Apple A10, while the low-consumption cores offer a 75% improvement, an excellent figure that shows a great increase in performance when going from two to four cores.

The graphics have also undergone a great change, since it is the first time that Apple uses a GPU of its own design since until now it has always been using the technology of Imagination Technologies. Despite this, those of Cupertino promise that its new processor improves graphics performance by up to 30% compared to its predecessor the Apple A10.

With all these improvements, the Apple A11 Bionic has devastated its passage through Geekbench, threatening even the powerful Intel processors that are mounted on the MacBook Pro.
