Ryzen 7 2700X 50th Anniversary Edition will be signed by AMD CEO Lisa Su

AMD plans to launch a 50th anniversary version of its Ryzen 7 2700X processor, delivered with gold-colored packaging and a processor with the laser-engraved signature of AMD CEO Lisa Su.

Aside from AMD's revamped IHS, the Ryzen 7 2700X is the same as any other boxed edition of the processor, shipped with the same clock speeds as before and the same AMD Wraith Prism CPU cooler. Right now, the price of AMD's Ryzen 7 2700X is unknown, although it is likely to be slightly higher than that of the standard processor editions. It would have been interesting to have higher clock speeds than in the standard edition, to have a better differentiation between the two.

AMD is also rumored to release a 50th anniversary version of the company's high-end Radeon VII graphics card, with leaked images suggesting that the GPU will be delivered in an all-red casing and other cosmetic changes. As for hardware, the Radeon VII will be functionally the same as AMD's reference model.

AMD was founded on May 1, 1969.
