Leaks about asus amd x570 and its possible sale prices
Table of contents:
Coming from Computex , we have been able to know the possible prices of the next line of motherboard of the Taiwanese giant, the ASUS AMD X570. They are certainly very well-equipped motherboards, but the prices may scare more than one user.
The creepy prices of the ASUS AMD X570 line
Everything indicates that with AMD's growing relevance in the processor market, companies will jump on the bandwagon of high prices. We warn you: it is not confirmed, but we do have reliable leaks that speak of ASUS following this strategy.
ASUS ROG Strix X570-F motherboard (~ € 300)
The data comes from a charge from the same ASUS who, during Computex 2019 , commented these prices to a journalist from the TechPowerUp portal. As the journalist indicates, the CEO of msi, Charles Chiang, affirmed that the market no longer sees AMD as a low-budget alternative to Intel , but that they are now one more lion in the arena.
While the AMD Ryzen 3000 processors are advertised with the starting prices of their previous iterations, the motherboards don't look like they'll honor these lines. The ASUS AMD X570 boards will follow, according to the leaks, this distribution:
Name | Price |
Prime X570-P | $ 159.99 USD |
TUF Gaming X570-P | 169.99 $ USD |
TUF Gaming X570-P + Wi-Fi | $ 184.99 |
Prime X570-Pro | 249.99 $ USD |
ROG Strix X570-F | 299.99 $ USD |
ROG Strix X570-E Gaming | 329.99 $ USD |
ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero | 359.99 $ USD |
ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero + Wi-Fi | 379.99 $ USD |
If a few years ago selecting a motherboard was a matter of taste and you could buy one at a good price, the change of generation will change this paradigm for some time. If we want to take advantage of all the blessings of PCIe Gen 4, the entry price for the cheapest board seems to be very high.
So I lose Ryzen 3000 ?
Fear not, you will be able to enjoy your new Ryzen 3000 processor without having to sacrifice an organ to your favorite pagan god. As we have advanced in other news, the new AMD processors will be backward compatible with existing boards. If you are looking for a good X370 or X470 (better the latter), you can use any Ryzen 3000 processor without any drama. You will only have to access the BIOS and update it to support the new devices.
ASUS ROG Strix X470-F motherboard (~ € 200)
The only problem you will suffer is that you will not have PCIe Gen 4 , although if any device you have can take advantage of it, it is not a great loss. On the other hand, we will also lose some M.2 ports along the way. What we will gain will be silence, since we will not have to carry those gigantic heatsinks with a fan. You know, the fewer moving parts, the less noise.
In the end, all this will be summed up in a decision between more power and more budget or less benefits, but a more reasonable price. The choice is yours.
What would you do if you bought a Ryzen 3000 and did not have a motherboard? Buy you an X370, X470 or X570? Tell us your decision below.
